1. How it began

“Mom!! Tell me again, why can’t I have a boyfriend?” I asked my mother, sitting on a black stool, near the kitchen counter. “Because, when you are in a relationship, you won’t be able to concentrate on your studies! Even your family! I am saying this for your own good, honey. I will tell you when you can be in a relationship. Okay?” she asked me softly. “Okay mom.” I replied smiling. You must be wondering why I am moms golden child, right? Well, it’s because, she is my mother, plus she is very, very fragile. She has breathing difficulties, bone problems, cholesterol problems, allergies even skin problems! She has the most beautiful and smooth skin I’ve ever seen! (Ma) she even takes very good care of herself but still…

Also, I am the only small girl in the family.(I have a big sister, who is married, a big brother, who is also married and a little brother, who is in sixth grade.) she loves me a lot, because I care for her and help her the most. There is more than that to explain why I don’t argue with my mom and behave.

I kept my brown side bag on the floor as mom bought me a plate of pancakes, and began to eat. “Where is Edward?” I asked. “Oh, he had his breakfast really fast and headed to his room to try out his new computer game!” she replied. (My little brother Edward goes to school at evening, so he spend most of the time playing video games and stuff in the morning) “Wow, he really does go crazy over them!” I replied. Mom smiled and nodded in agreement. “Well, hurry up! You’re going to be late for the first day of school!” mom told me, looking at the clock. I quickly ate the pancakes, grabbed my bag and headed out, after checking myself out on the decorated mirror near the front door.

My black wavy waist length hair was neatly combed and flipped to the back, wearing an elbow length sleeved grey-pink top with black Minnie skirt. I wore dark pink and black pantyhose with brown pretty boots with a touch of pink glittery jewelry… which also matches my bright blue eyes.

“Bye mom!” I called as I went out. I heard a faint “bye honey! Have fun” from her as I went out. The sun was shining and the sky was blue. The lawn of my house twinkled with small dew drops. The air smelled fresh and sweet. It’s a mysteriously fine day. I thought to myself, as I walked past my neighbor, Clare, a young widow’s house. She was watering her garden. “Hello, Mrs. Clare! Your garden looks beautiful!” I complimented. “Thank you, honey! How are you now?” she asked, brushing away a stray blond hair from her face. She has really short but “Oh, I am fine, thanks!” I replied smiling. “Why don’t you drop by to have some pie? I am going to make some vanilla pie!” she offered. “Sorry, I can’t now. I am headed to school right now. Ill come over after school.” I replied. “Sure! Now, hurry! You might be late!” she replied smiling. So I continued walking, without realizing that this is the day which changed my life…
