9. Make It Up

Casey's POV:

Thanks to Ashton, I finally understood that Niall was only trying to protect me; but now I feel so sorry for Nialler.  I gotta make it up to him; I didn't want to see him coming home without a smile.  I felt like he didn't want to come home anymore since I kept ignoring him and not giving him a chance to explain further.  I needed to fix this before our marriage breaks.

So tonight, I decided to make a special dinner, a romantic dinner. I went to the grocery store to buy some meat and some veggies.  When I got back home, I immediately began to prepare for dinner.  My plan was to cook some steak with some steam veggie and a tiny scoop of mashed potato.  Of course there was soup- clam chowder.  Last but not least, a bottle of decent red wine.  On the table, I put on some candles and some rose peddles plus a little card with Niall's name on it.  I was never good at apologizing so I decided to write my apology down.  When everything is set, it was just the matter of time when he comes home.

6:30 pm

I heard the garage door opened then closed; I took a peek at the security camera and saw Niall coming into the home.  He let out a big sigh before continued walking down the hallway that led to our living room.  Without noticing, he threw the car keys onto the living room table leaving a big clang.  I could tell he couldn't take it anymore.  Then he threw himself onto the couch and covered his face with his hands.  Tears were forming in my eye sockets; I couldn't believe that I didn't realize that I hated to see him so miserable like this.  Suddenly he began to sniff, which reminded about the dinner that was about to get cold in the dining room.  So I walked out from behind the wall and called, "Ni?"

"Oh hey babe! I didn't know you are downstairs!" he pretended that he was not upset.

"Ya ummm about that...we need to talk, I mean, I need to apologize to you," I said shamefully.

"Oh..." he said and looked down at the floor.

I walked towards him and pulled him into the dining room without saying a word.  He was confused.

"Case, wait, what are you do-" he was cut off by the scene of the dinner table.

"Nialler, honey, I am so sorry about how I treated you for the past few days.  I should have put myself in your position.  I would have done the same if I were you," I tried to explain as he seated himself in front of his plate. I awkwardly took a seat across from him.  After thirty seconds of silence, he finally looked up at me and said, "Case, you don't have to apologize.  I understand why you're mad, and I understand why you didn't wanna talk to me for the past few days.  I get it! Don't worry about it!"

"I'm glad you forgive me, but can you just read what I have to say in the little card in from of you?"

Niall's POV:

She pointed at the little half fold card with my name on it.  She wrote the whole thing in her beautiful cursive writing.  How can I stay mad at her and not forgive her when she's so amazing?  I opened and and it read:

Dear Potato:

I'm so sorry about what I've done to you for the past few days.  I'm sorry if I made you feel miserable about coming home.  I just didn't know how to cope with the unexpected death of our unborn child.  It was always a dream for me to start a little family with the love of my life.  And when you reminded me that I was pregnant but lost the baby in the accident, it was like a dream come true but shattered the next second.  I didn't know what to do.  I'm sorry I let out my emotions on you; we should be going through this together.  Now I finally understand; you didn't tell me because you don't want me to be upset or cry all the time.  Niall, thank you for always being there for me even when I was ignoring you.  I promise, I will not let my stupidity and my stubbornness ruin the best thing that has happen in my life.  I love you so much, and I'm sorry.

Case xx

I didn't know what to say; I was just so glad that my baby is finally back to her normal self!  I got up from my chair and walked to her side and pulled her into a tight embrace. "I love you too, Cupcake!" I whispered.

"I miss the way you call me that," she chuckled.

"Cupcake, Cupcake, Cupcake!" I teased.

She laughed and said, "Potato, you really are the best thing that has happen to me in my life."

"It's mutual."

We then share a passionate kiss- it felt good- before I pulled away and asked, "Can we eat now? I'm starving!"

"Of course! Hope you like it!"

"I love everything you cook, babe!"
