Never Again

This is the story of an SS soldier.
It tells of his life when he was an orphan on the streets of Germany during the 1920's and then how he was accepted into the SS and what it was like.
There is a mixture of flashbacks, flash-forwards and diary entries.
I hope you enjoy reading it and any comments would be most welcome as it is the first time I have tried to write a historical fiction, especially about such a well studied period of history,

1. Prologue

"Get out of the way! Move over! You're blocking the whole street!" I screamed at the man standing in the middle of the cobbled street.

When he made no visible effort to move I strode over to him, lifted my leg and brought it into the mans calf with as much force as I could gather.

"Ahh!" the man screamed and collapsed onto the ground as he feet disappeared from beneath him. I kicked him again in the stomach, continuously kicking him until he tried to roll away towards the edge of the street. That's when I grabbed his arms and began dragging him down the filthy street towards the Gestapo headquarters in our city.

This man had caused a disruption and now he was going to pay for it. That was the way we worked here.

I dropped him at the top of the staircase, outside the huge doors that marked the entrance to the Gestapo headquarters and made my way back onto the streets of Germany.

I had  job to do and I was going to do it well.

No one should disappoint the Fuhrer, especially not me.
