16. Seriously? Only a Day After Mystique?!

I walked into the Sick Bay and looked around for my clothes. I had to take a shower here because I was soaked in Jean's blood.

I turned around to look in the bathroom to double check that I hadn't left them in there and slipped on the water trail I had created and fell on my butt.

"Oooowwww..." I whined as I dragged myself off the floor.

"Smooth move, Abbie!" A voice cackled behind me.

I recognized that voice, as I turned around to look up at her; my best friend. She was (as always) wearing her long dark brown hair in a high ponytail that still fell to the bottom of her back by her hips. She's of medium height, making her look like she's drowning in her hair.

She had on a strange colour for her though. She likes to wear bright, bouncy, and energetic colours. Not the deep, dark, and brooding black that she was wearing now. Her outfit was made up of a pair of black skinny jeans, a black tank top and a bunch of black bangles on her wrists with a pair of black and silver sunglasses in her right hand. The tank looked pretty baggy in the chest area...

Her purple eyes were sparkling with mirth, her mouth was twisted in a smirk and she was fighting hard to not giggle at me. "Like my outfit? I went shopping and grabbed this a little bit ago." She smirked.

I glared at her and stood up quickly, my towel slipping and I promptly grabbed it and hugged it to my chest, not really caring about the length of it anymore.

"Please, Abs, it's nothin I've not seen before." Her Michigan accent was very potent.

"It doesn't matter to me. And take my bleeding clothes off now! I need them! Wait.... Where are my...unmentionables?" I whisper-yelled at her.

She giggled, pulled her left arm from behind her back and held up a pair of Hello Kitty panties and a neon pink and blue zebra striped bra.

I blanched. Those were NOT mine! "Those are NOT mine!" I snapped.

She giggled and said, "I know... When I went shopping, I just had to pick these up for you. I thought that they were so totally...YOU!" She winked at me.

"Viccie! How'd you even GET here?!" I demanded.

Victoria just smiled at me. Then, just as she was opening her mouth, came the fun.

The door opened and Clint walked in. With me still in a towel that was far more revealing of my legs than I would have liked. I dropped to the floor before he could see the length the towel was being held at.

"Hey, sweetie?" He looked up from his phone and shoved it into his pocket only to glare at Viccie.

"You!," she shrieked in an outrage, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! HAVEN'T YOU SCREWD WITH HER ENOUGH?! HUH?!" She was one ticked off girl, and acting completely different than she usually does around people.

A ticked off girl who was glowing....gold?

Her hair started to whip around her as if being thrown around by large tufts of wind. And it (her magnificently long hair) slapped me across the face multiple times.

I let it go, and let Viccie go ahead and sort out my man.

"Alright! That's enough!" I said as I clamped my hand over her mouth to keep her from spilling the entire tale of how lonesome and depressed I was.

"No, let her finish. You didn't tell me a darn thing when we met up again. You let all of the pain go. You forgave me. Now, I think I should know what I caused, love." Clint said, pulling my hand down from Victoria's mouth.

She was fuming, but when Clint spoke, she deflated a little and looked at him. Really looked at him. She seemed to see straight into his soul.

"She thought it was because of her. She thought that it was her and her only. She thought that everyone left her because they all thought she wasn't worth loving. She thought this, for years. It took my almost a decade to get her to stop cutting me put of her life. To stop wishing she was dead. She was suicidal. Her arms, those scars, what do you think they're from? I'd found her more than five times with bandages all over her arms, with blood soaking through her sheets from her arms bleeding. She's been hospitalized for it. That was her rock bottom. And you left me with that mess. I couldn't forgive you as quickly as she did. This wasn't because of you. She forgot about you after a month. It was her parents mostly. But you were the straw that broke the camel's back."

I was silent, and then realizing that I was still in my towel, I ran into the bathroom and dragged Victoria with me. Luckily, I had a robe in there and after I stripped her of my clothes, I shoved her into that.

Then, I ran out of the bathroom, ignoring her complaints and shoved Clint out of Sick Bay, ignoring his complaints.

"You. Are. Dead!" I hissed at her when I threw open the door to the bathroom and cornered her.

"He said to let me continue!" She defended herself.

I scoffed. "That doesn't mean that you do! AND! You still haven't spilled about why and how you're bloody well here, Victoria. Now, it's time to spill."

She nodded her head in defeat, accepting that she didn't have a choice in the matter at all.

"I'm sorry but, I believed he needed to know. And I'm here because my father is here."

"And who is he?"

"My father is... DUUUNNNN DUUUNNNN DUUUNNNNNN!!!!," she started dramatically and then she started to make dramatic movements with her hands and arms. "Doooocccccttttoooorrrrrr. Sssstrteeeeeeppphhheeeeennnn. Sssttttrrrrrrraaaannnggggeeee!!!"

"What?! Your father is the Doc?"

"You never told me..."

"Couldn't. We were under deep cover. Watching over you."

"Is that the only reason you're my friend?!" I snapped at her.

Her eyes widened and she gaped at me. "WHAT?! NO! I didn't even know about it until I WAS your friend and dad sat me down to tell me." She sounded panicked.

"Okay." I said, relaxing.

She smiled at me and then jumped when the door burst open and Tony walked in, looking flustered.

"Daddy Tony?" I asked worriedly.

I was still annoyed that he had sent me away from Stark Tower but he looked really upset.

"Thank God... You're here..." He gasped, as if he had just ran here. Which he probably did.

"What? Of course I am, Tony. What's going on?"

"He's found you again. That red head is here." He gasped again as he worked on barricading us in the Sick Bay.

"The one that you fought and the FORCED me to leave by KNOCKING ME OUT?!" I snapped.

He flinched. "Yeah..."

I was mad. She had attacked my godfather. I was going to kill her. I was engulfed by my flames and then I heard something outside. I focused my hearing and my sense of smell and I picked up three people.

And their scents weren't familiar. Except the one directly outside the Sick Bay.

"Tony!," I whisper-yelled, "She's here!"

He paled and then rushed us all into Doc's office, and his us in there in his private bathroom.

The first door was blasted open and I could smell her. She had found us.
