Christmas Love

lonely, sheltered and shy Rhiannon has never had a friend, the only friend she has only known are in the safety of her books. Everything changes when one Christmas trip brings her the greatest Christmas gift of all: a friend.

2. Milwaukee

Upon finding out the great news that I was going to spend Christmas vacation in Milwaukee with my Aunts, Uncles and Cousins I wanted to find out more about Milwaukee so I went online and found out that Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the third most populous state in the U.S. and that most of the people living there have German descendents which to me was really interesting since I want to learn German. Maybe I can start learning it now. I thought happily.

(Monday December 19, 2013)

"Rhee are you ready we need to catch the 10:30 am plane to Milwaukee on time!" I could hear my mom yelling outside from her car.

"I'll be ready in just a second." I had to make sure I had my special white coat for when it snows, I know it looked to pretty for me to take considering that I was only going to see my Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins but it promised really cold weather.

"You're so lucky Rhee you get to see real snow for the first time." My mom told me as we were already on our way to LAX Airport. The weather was cold but as always the sun was out welcoming everyone to another new day.

"I know mom but It's just snow and it will be mostly cold." I thought wondering if I had packed my winter socks and my leg warmers.

Anyway for the whole trip we were listening to oldies music mostly from the 70s and 80s from my mom's childhood and adolescence. I had come to cherish the music of my mom's generation more than mine, well I can't lie but I also have some favorite singers like Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. The whole way to the airport was so new to me since I do not go out much.

It was already nine o' clock when we arrived there and Ten when it was already my time to board the plane.  As I heard the female voice over the intercom announce the boarding of Milwaukee, Wisconsin I felt a rush of joy at going by myself.

"Well that's me, mom have to go now." I smiled at her confidently trying to hide my nervousness at the knowledge that I was going on my own for the first time somewhere far.

"Rhee I'm going to miss you," she wiped her eyes which were full of tears. "Make sure to write me and call me when you're almost coming back okay?"

"I will mom, don't worry about me too much, okay?"

"It will be hard but I'll try." she laughed hugging me and wishing me a great time.

"Bye Mom!" I waved

"Bye Rhee!" She waved back.

Once on the plane I realized I wasn't in California anymore but on my way to somewhere new.

"Milwaukee, here I come." I said to myself as I looked up at the sky from the airplane window wondering how the trip was going to be.
