Bradley is smoking hot. He's a man whore. Every girl wants to jump in his pants not to mention a few guys. But then, there's Shay. She hates everything about him, from his floppy hair to his Australian accent.
Shay is a bookworm. She reads and reads and reads. If she's not reading she's dancing in her mother's studio.
Somehow Bradley finds this ever so endearing and tries his very hardest to get her attention. But of course he'll never get it.

17. 17 (Brad's POV)

I'd been playing my guitar trying to think up an apology, but all I could think of was, I fucked up. So you could tell how relieved I was when she said she wasn't mad. And when we almost... And then her prick of a dad came home. And then the yelling started and I put Jake in the office, praying there was nothing dangerous he could get in to. When I got back, however, I wished I had come sooner. I saw Shay fall to the ground, unconscious, and her dad hover over as if anticipating hitting her again.

"Get away from her!" I screamed he looked startled at me. "I'm calling the cops." Why did I say that? He came running towards me, and I dodged as his fist came in contact with the drywall behind me. I didn't have the strength to fight off this 200- something pound man. I ran for Shay picking her off the ground.

"Look I don't want any trouble, just let me go." he said coming towards me.

"Do you have no regard for your daughter at all? After all the shit she's been through, this is what you do?"

"She's not my daughter." I furrowed my brows but when I was about to ask what he meant he flew out the door. I turned my attention to the unconscious girl in my arms.  I reached for the phone.

"My girlfriend's dad just knocked her unconscious." i spoke into the speaker.

There was a series of waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Visiting hours would be over in 2 hours, and I planned to stay the whole time. A nurse came back to me.

"Are you here for Shay?" She looked worried.

"Yes... I am. Is she okay?"

"She has a slight concussion. She hit her head really hard. Basically a concussion is when your brain shakes, because of a force to the head. She needs her rest so we really  don't wan to bother her with questions so do you mind telling me what happened or what you saw?"

"She was having an argument with her dad, I left the room with her son..."

"Where is he now?"

"Her son."

"He's with my sister, Amanda."

"Okay. Continue."

"Anyway it went quiet and I decided to see what happened, and when I got there it looked as if he had hit her and she fell to the ground."

"Okay did you talk to the police about this?"

"Yeah, I did. Can I just see her now?"

"Yes. Follow me." she began walking down a narrow hallway that made my head spin. Finally she stopped at room with the numbers 375 carved into to gold metal and nailed to the door. "She's sleeping so stay really quiet. Try not to run into anything." I nodded and she lead the way into her room where Shay was flipping through channels on the small TV. The nurse let out a sigh. "You. Are supposed to be sleeping."

"I just woke up. Bite me." She laughed. "Brad! They're finally letting you in! I've been fine the whole time."

"You have a concussion." I laughed.

"I've had one before. Damn they make such a big deal of it now a days." She kept flipping through the channels.

"I'll leave you to deal with her." The nurse winked at Shay and walked out.

"What's that about?"

"That's Nina. She's an undergrad intern. She's an assistant nurse. She's in my English class, we goof around a lot in there. Now get over here." I laughed walking over to the hospital bed. She sat up. "Curse this gown." She slapped at the unflattering cloth. "Thank you, for getting me here."

"No problem." I brushed a stray hair out of her face. I leaned into her. "I'd do it again." I kissed her nose. She smiled cupping my face in her soft hands. "And again. Forever."

"Forever?"  she asked.

"Forever." I said wrapping my arms around her waist. She pressed her lips softly to mine, kissing me slowly.

"No fornicating in the hospital!" The door slammed shut. I pulled away startled. I was greeted by her beautiful laughter.

"Don't listen to her she's a dickhead."  She wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling me in for more.
