Heartbeat Away {Luke Hemmings}

Luke broke her heart so many years ago. However, he's never fully gotten over her. He's tried everything to get her back, but with her changed email, Twitter, deleted Facebook and number, there was no way for him to contact her. When he finally thinks he's over her, she spots her in the streets with him. She gives signs that she might like him again, except she has a boyfriend. Will she dump her current boyfriend of 4 years for Luke, or will she be the one time break Luke's heart this time?

Rosie's POV

"Hey Luke. Mikey's party is tomorrow. Are we still up for being each other's dates? I had a really good time at dinner with you last week. I guess you don't feel the same. Hope to see you there tomorrow, Hemmo." I said after the beep.

I found myself, lying aimlessly on my couch with Scruffers sitting on my stomach, his tail wagging back and forth. Dalton was on another one of his trips, leaving me bored to death. He wasn't too happy when he found out I had been in contact with Luke since he was gone and he wasn't impressed that I had dinner arrangements with the kid. I mean, it's just old friends eating together whilst reminiscing on old memories. Nothing bad would happened, and nothing did. Luke and I sat in his kitchen having a normal dinner. We discussed some of his old tour adventures, bad relationships we had after seeing each other and various stupid things. We sang bad karaoke, had really good food he cooked (a miracle really) and then watched Mean Girls two or three times. Dalton still left for his trip in a fit though, demanding for hourly updates on what he called a date.

Now that was 6 days ago and I'll be seeing all the boys again tomorrow. Luke's been AWOL again though, per usual. This child, I swear. I've left him a dozen voice mail messages, hoping he'd want to meet up again before tomorrow, along with 20-something text messages, but nothing.

I mean, I think he had fun that evening. Nothing awkward happened. It was like old times. I felt like a teenager again.

I let out a loud sigh. Scruffers barked in return and jumped off the couch to grab the letters that lay on the floor from the mail man's delivery earlier in the hour.

Bills, bills, and Hemmo. Ignoring the bills, which I may regret later, I opened the letter thinking it was from Luke.

Hey Rosie,

It's Cal. Sorry this is late. Probably should've called instead since you're probably gonna get this letter really late. Michael wanted me to tell you that his party was postponed for next week. He's on a bit of a power strike and doesn't know what to do for the party. Last minute planning again, you know Michael. Anyways, I'll call you if I get anymore news.

Cal-Pal x.

The letter didn't come with a return address, so I decided to call Calum.

After a few rings, he picked up, sounding confused at what I told him.

"I didn't send you a letter. Why would I when I can text you."

"No need to get all defensive Hood. So the party isn't cancelled tomorrow."

"Alright. Thanks Calum. Sorry about the mix up. I'll see you tomorrow."

"See ya." He hung up, leaving me more confused than earlier.

I examined the letter again. A giant H on the letter. H for Hemmings, not for Hood apparently. A penguin stamp and sloppy handwriting. I slapped myself on the forehead. Luke.
