2. Chapter 1

**Present Day**

My door creaking open softly and rapid little footsteps coming closer to my bed is what I heard every morning ever since Camryn could walk.

"Mommy." I sweet little voice whispered while poking my shoulder blade.

I fluttered my eyes open to look at the time 6:45. Always around the same time. I turned on my bed on the opposite side I was facing to meet my beautiful 3 year old.

"Morning baby." I grinned at her while wrapping my arms around her legs so she collapsed softly on the bed making her giggle.

It surprises me how much she looks like her dad. She had his chocolate brown hair, plump lips, and hazel eyes.

"Morning." She smiled rolling over on her back and looking up at the ceiling. I took this chance to kiss her cheek and lifted her up.

"I can do it." She told me as we reached the stairs. I chuckled and put her down. She took a deep breath before placing her hands on each side of the wall and started to walk down the steps.

"One at a time." I reminded her as she got a little cocky and sped up a little. She did a little nod before continuing.

Once we made it all the way downstairs she ran to the table as I made her breakfast and my coffee ready.

"Guess who has preschool today?" I asked her while passing her cereal. I heard a little whimper before she went off.

"I don't wanna go!" She whined pouting and crossing her arms.

I was taken aback by this. She is usually excited to go.
"Why hon?"

"I wanna stay here." She whined still keeping the same stance.
"Well mommy has to go to work and preschool's fun." I told her while sipping my coffee.

"I wanna stay here!" She screamed before starting to cry.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes. She's always liked school before. I have no idea why she wants to have a temper tantrum today.

"Camryn you are going to school and having a temper tantrum won't change anything. So I suggest you finish your breakfast." I told her firmly. As a response she huffed and started to eat her breakfast.

"Come on Camryn!" I whined as she clung onto my leg as I was dropping her off at school. She is as stubborn as her father.

"I'm not going!" She grunted. Hugging my leg tighter. I groaned before removing her small body from my leg and kneeling down to face her red face.

"I'll tell you what. If you be a good girl at school today and let mommy go we will go out for ice cream later." I begged. Instantly her face brighten and a big childish grin was formed.

"Ok." She said nodded her head. I sighed in relief.
"Ok. Mommy loves you. Kiss?" I said hugging her little body as she wrapped her little arms around my neck.
"Wuv you too." She mumbled before giving me a kiss and waltzing into the classroom.

I dusted my pencil skirt off and readjusted my purse before meeting eyes with her teacher. She was giving me an icy glare. I sent her a apologetic smile before rushing back to my car.

Camryn was famous for making me late all the time and I wasn't sure how much longer my boss could take it.

"Good Morning Miss Burke." The secretary of the building smiled at me as I walked into the business building. I sent her a warm smile before quickly heading to the elevator.

Pressing the seventh floor button, I relaxed a little bit. It was only 8:15 and I had to be at work at 8:30.  I whipped out my blackberry checking my emails and message to see if my boss had sent something but nothing so far so that's good.

The ding of the elevator brought my attention back and I quickly stepped out the elevator and headed towards my desk that was in front of my bosses room. I set my purse and belongings down before walking towards his room.

I heard faint deep voices chatting and the occasional deep chuckle of another male voice. I don't remember him saying he had a meeting. That's weird…

Shrugging it off I delicately knocked on the door to get his attention.
"That must be her now." I heard him say as footsteps came closer to the door.

I stood up a little taller and cleared my throat as I was met by Greg McClary my boss.

"Hello Katrina. I was expecting you a little later. That little angel didn't give you any trouble this morning?" Greg greeted me with a warm smile.

"Good Morning Sir and no not really this morning." I smiled back politely. "Did you want me to make your coffee now and probably another since I heard another voice in there?"

"Katrina you have worked here for years and I still insist you call me Greg. But before you make coffee runs I would like to introduce you to someone new to the office." He smiled before placing a hand on my upper back to guide me into his office.

There was a tall figure starring out the window looking at the beautiful view of Toronto as we walked in.

"Justin." Greg said getting the man's attention. He slowly turned around.

I froze at the sight of his face. My heart instantly sped up. And I'm pretty sure I had no color in my face. Meeting that pair of captivating hazel eyes.

"Katrina Burke I would like to introduce you too our new Marketer, Justin Bieber." Greg said standing beside us yet his voice seemed so distant.

Justin put his hand out making me wince as flashbacks of his firm hand slapping me came back.

"Hello Kat." I heard him say with a smile. I looked at him for a few seconds before turning back to Greg.

"Excuse me." I croaked before darting out the room as I felt my breakfast starting to come up my throat.

I ran to the restroom as fast as I could before slamming a stall door open and puking my guts out.

I can't believe he's here…
