Alaska ran away from home to keep her father safe, but when she falls for a human boy she ends up putting herself and his family in danger. Will Xavier and Elijah be able to keep themselves out of harms way? Or will the blood thirsty side of Alaska take over?

6. Chapter Five

Elijah sat at his desk writing, while Xavier and Alaska were sat on the bunk bed.

“Are you sure about this?” Elijah asked over his shoulder,

“Yes, I want them to know i’m coming back so not to come looking for me” she explained resting her head on Xaviers shoulder. He smiled to himself then nodded slightly,

“Just write it.”

“why don’t you just write it? Won’t they find it weird someone else is writing it?”

“They don’t know my handwriting”

“What kind of parents are they?”

“Good ones”.

A man with dark brown hair and piercing green eyes stood at the front of his house with a letter in his hands. The paper felt strange on his skin and the ink didn't seem to run like the way they write in Moonville. He tore open the envelope and pulled out a small scrap of paper which had been ripped from a notepad. It read;

Dear father,

i’m sorry I left you so quickly but I didn't have much choice. I want to keep you safe and I know you wouldn't want to hurt me if I did attack you. I’ll be returning a few days after Christmas day but in the mean time I’m safe staying with some new friends of mine, friends I know I won’t harm or who will harm me. I’ll see you soon.

                  Love from your daughter Alaska.

The man sighed and leant back on his front door before it opened and he stumbled backwards slightly,

“Sorry, what is it?” A black haired women with blue eyes asked wrapping her arms around his waist. She had red around her light eyes from where she’d obviously been crying and her black hair was in a messy ponytail.

“Alaska” he replied to her quietly and held the letter up to her, she moved away from him and took the letter before crying again. “Hey, Madison” he pulled her into a hug and she sobbed into her shoulder,

“She saw me attack you when she was 12!” Alaska’s mother cried “this is my fault!”

“No” he soothed her, resting his chin on her head “this is mine, if I had left like I normally would at Christmas she wouldn't have ran” he stroked his wife's hair in an attempt to calm her down “she’ll come back.”

“But those friends of hers! What if they’re boys! What if she does what I did and falls in love! She’ll break her own heart…”

“Don’t Jason… Just don’t okay” she turned away and went back inside their small 2 bedroom  house. Jason, Alaska’s father, stood watching her for a moment then sighed and followed her in.

The door to the twins bedroom swung open and Xavier stumbled in. The bottom of his trousers were covered in melting snow and his hair was slightly damp. Alaska was stood looking out the window when he burst in and giggled at the sight of him while Elijah just sat at his desk laughing.

“Why didn't you warn me it snows?” Xavier asked with a slight glare at Alaska,

“I didn't know it was still snowing” she smiled “how heavy was it?”

“Heavy enough to weigh my legs down!” he groaned “I couldn't run and do you know how hard it was to get away from your town quick enough without running?” she giggled again,

“I’m sorry Xavier” she smiled but he just shook his head and with small smile.

“Right! You need to change, Mum will kill you if she sees you like that…”

“Oh yeah! I’m meant to be grounded…” the boys looked over at Alaska who was still stood by the window,

“Maybe she should leave…”

“She can stay if she wants” Xavier shrugged and moved over to his bed to grab his PJ’s.

“X do you really-”

“Hello!” Sandy, the twins younger sister, threw the bedroom door open and Xavier quickly pushed himself onto his bed so she wouldn't be able to tell his was slightly wet. “Mum says dinner will be ready in 10 min- who are you?” the brown haired girl asked noticing Alaska by the window.

“Alaska Simons, you must be Sandy” she smiled moving forward to get a better look at the twins little sister, “I've heard a lot about you.”

“Are you Elijah’s girlfriend?”

“Out” Xaviers voice boomed from his bed,

“So she’s yours!” Alaska cleared her throat and moved towards the bedroom door,

“I’m none of their girlfriends, but I would like to be your friend if you let me” she smiled down at the younger child. Sandy looked suspiciously back at her brothers before looking back to Alaska, smiling and pulling her out to the hall,

“You can sit next to me at dinner, but right now i’ll show you my paintings!” the little girl grinned causing Alaska to laugh

“I look forward to it” she replied before shutting the door and leaving the twins alone in their room. Elijah chuckled once the girls were gone and glanced over at his brother who was know standing and kicking his shoes off,

“What?” Xavier asked pulling his socks off and looking over at his twin.

You've known her a day”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” he said standing up to face Elijah,

“It means don’t run before you can-” his sentence was cut short by having his brothers wet jeans thrown at him.

“It’s not like that!” Xavier argued as he pulled his t-shirt over his head and shook his hair like a dog that had just got out of a river, “I just want to help her…”

“By helping do you mean dating her?”

“So you wouldn't mind if I asked?” Xavier stared at his brother for a moment and shoved his PJ shirt on,

“No… Of course not” he eventually said quietly. Elijah smirked to himself and left the room, leaving Xavier to sigh and finish changing into his PJ’s.
