The Other Half of Me

Behind the glasses, behind the sweater vests, behind the hair gel, there's an untold story...

Marcel was a normal 19 year old guy in school. He was always being bullied. One day, he meets a girl and she makes him change his perspective on himself. After a few days of getting to know her and spending time with her, he realized that he wasn't really being himself all of these years at school. The next day, he walked into school completely different...

4. Meeting Each Other

Lindsay's POV:

"Okay, who can tell me what yellow journalism is?" My History teacher, Mrs. Ebersold said. I was just completely lost. I didn't get it in the homework, so how am I supposed to know now? "Lindsay! Why don't you tell me?" I snapped my head up from my notebook, which I was drawing in. 'Just my luck' I thought to myself. I waited a couple seconds before I spoke.

I looked in my notebook searching for the answer, which, luckily, I found. "Yellow journalism is where a newspaper publisher exaggerates a story by using bold text and coloured paper." I read straight out of the notebook. "Yes, exactly!" Then she started talking more about it, and I didn't really pay attention because I just wasn't interested.

OH! I forgot!

Hiiii! I'm Lindsay Hogan. I'm 19 and I go to Linkin High, and I'm considered 'popular' when I don't think I am. I mean, I'm not one of those nasty slobs like the others. I'm sweet and nice... When I don't hate everyone in this school. Ugh. High school can be rough.

If you want to know more about me, then stick around to hear me blab on more.

I have blue eyes that look like crystals, or at least that's what everyone else says. I'm fair skinned, not pale, but close. I have brown hair that has highlights in it, and they're starting to look like an ombré, and I'm single.

Pathetic, right?

I was sitting there, in history class, just listening to the teacher when my head just started pounding. Out of the blue! I raised my hand to tell my teacher what happened, she wrote me a nurse pass, and I headed out of the room with all of my stuff.

I was walking down the hall when some guy ran into me, making me drop my books.

"Oh my god. I'm so sorry." He said.

"It okay." I bent down to pick up my books and he did as well.

"I'm Marcel." He said, sticking his hand out for me to shake.

"I'm Lindsay. Nice to meet you." I said, taking his hand

"You too. Beautiful name, by the way." He said handing me the rest of my books. "So, what are you doing out here in the middle of class?"

"My head started pounding in the middle of history, so I'm going to the nurse. What about you?"

"I was in the nurse, too. I was being bullied and got kicked and punched. I'm staying in the office for the rest of the day."

Wow. I never would've guessed he was being bullied. I mean, he's so nice and caring and sweet. Why would people bully him?

"Wow. I'm so sorry. Who was bullying you?" I asked

"Aaron. One of the 'populars.' "

"Of course."

"Oh, it's nothing. He's just an idiot."

Aaron was one of those people that pushes nerds down... Literally. He gets all the girls, and he keeps trying to come onto me... Disgusting.

"You can say that again." He said sarcastically. We both laughed at both his and my statement.

"Well, again, I'm so sorry. I don't get why people would bully you. You're really nice and sweet."

"Thanks. You are too. I'm really glad I met you." He said smiling. He's such a gentlemen.

"I am too. We should get to the nurse."

"Yeah. Let's go."

And with that, we walked back to the nurse's office. And, to my surprise, my head wasn't hurting so bad anymore.

Aha. That's me! I did have a boyfriend, but he broke up with me like a week later. Ugh. Sometimes, dating can be rough. Anyways, comment, like, favourite and all that. I'll see you soon! Love you!
