Arms (Harry Styles Fanfiction)

I hope that you see right through my walls

I hope that you catch me 'cause I'm already falling

I'll never let a love get so close

You put your arms around me and I'm home

Ashton Harrell is an eighteen year old girl with big plans. She's always loved singing and felt as though she belonged on a stage surrounded by people who love music as much as she. But things weren't always in her favor, that is until she tried out for a huge television show called the X Factor.

Throughout her experience she faces hurdles she must overcome. After all she didn't come here for nothing and she wasn't going to let anything, or anyone, distract her, even if the largest pop icon Harry Styles had his eye on her.

5. Chapter 5

The next morning I made sure I set my alarm an hour early so I could actually try to look decent. I quickly got in the shower and let the warm liquid's steam seep into my pores, making me fully relax. Once I had washed my body, hair and I had shaved I stepped out and dried myself off. I left my hair in a towel twisted on the top of my head and started to apply some makeup. I put on light eyeliner, mascara and a nice shimmer lip gloss before deciding it was enough.

Then I headed to my closet and chose a simple outfit consisting of a flowy gray tank top and a tan jacket accompanied with some skinny jeans and gray converse. I took my hair out of the towel and chucked the towel across the room. Eh, I'll pick it up later. I checked the time to see that it was eight forty five. I had fifteen minutes to do my hair and gather my things before meeting Harry outside the hotel at nine.

It took me ten minutes to blow dry my hair since it was so long and thick. Once that gruesome task was done I plaited my hair into a messy side braid. I grabbed my phone and purse that carried my essentials, then proceeded to make my way towards the elevators and into the lobby.

I waited for about five minutes before a tall figure wearing a black hoodie and dark sunglasses nudged me. I glanced up and smiled, knowing it was Harry in his brilliantly convincing "disguise."

"Hey Ash. Glad you could make it" he smiled, his dimples deep and prominent like usual. He was really a breathtaking person even with the hoodie and sunglasses concealing most of his face. His ivory skin was smooth and flawless and his face was structured so symmetrically perfect that my math teacher from eight grade would be proud. Harry's snuff-colored curls peaked out of his hoodie, framing his face entirely giving him a cutesy rugged teenage boy look which I absolutely adored.

"Yeah me too, uh thanks for inviting me" I replied. We walked together side by side down the streets. Not too long after we found our way to the tiny cafe on a corner of a street. It was an unknown place for the most part and we were the only people in the cafe apart from one old man reading the paper in the corner table by himself.

Harry asked what I wanted and then proceeded to the counter to order our things. I sat quietly humming to myself at the table waiting for him to come back. I checked my phone to pass the time and saw that I had two new messages. One from Val and the other from Charlie.

From: Charlie

Hey boo! Ray told me about ur crush on Mr. Styles! oh hot damn hes a catch. tell me how coffee goes xx

I laughed, seeing as Charlie was one of the biggest One Direction fans ever in the history of Directioners. I could just imagine her squealing to herself about how her friend was getting coffee with the Harry Styles. I looked at Val's text next.

From: Val<3

just checking in... how Vegas? I saw ur twitter.... u better explain miss flirty :D

I smiled and replied to the both, saying to Charlie that I would and to Val that I was busy and couldn't explain at the moment but would call her later. Harry sauntered over to the table and set my cinnamon roll, caramel latte and his coffeecake and hot chocolate on the table.

"So, tell me about yourself" he asked smirking in my direction. I fought the blush that wanting to appear on my cheeks and tried to ignore his alluring smirks he was constantly sending me.

"Well what do you want to know Curly cue?" I asked grinning. He laughed, acknowledging my nickname for him.

"Well, let's start simple," he said, "Favorite color?"

"Favorite movie?"

"The conjuring" I confidently replied without a moment's hesitation

"Nice, I like a girl who isn't afraid of horror movies," Harry sent a wink my way again, " Favorite music artist?" he cheekily asked, raising his eyebrows expectantly.

"The Fray or Fifth Harmony" I chuckled when saw his grin falter but regain it's charisma is a seconds notice.

"Oh, well favorite boy band?" he asked, emphasizing the word boy band. I rolled my eyes

"N'sync duh" I smirked at him. We both bursted into fits of laughter. Once we both has calmed down a bit I patiently waited for his next question while taking a bite of my cinnamon bun. He stroked his fake beard, thinking deeply. I giggled at his immature, but lovable behavior.

"Have you ever had a boyfriend?" Oh. Wow Harry really gets down to business doesn't he? I was surprised by the question but I couldn't help the faint blush from making its way onto my cheeks.

"Um, nothing serious ya know? I've never actually had a real relationship before" I said slightly embarrassed to admit that to an international pop star who was irresistible to most women.

"That's surprising. If I was at your school I'd have scooped you up as quick as I could" he remarked, sending that same goddamned smirk my way.

"Well, uh thanks Harry" I say and genuinely mean every word.

"What made you first start to sing?" Harry asked, sincerely interested. I was flattered by the question really, it warmed my heart.

"Well when I was in kindergarten I would constantly go around singing the Wiggles and Barney. I guess music just kind rubbed off on me and now I take it everywhere I go, just like you do" I explain. He nodded.

We both finished our coffee and breakfast, so we both agreed to hit the road so we weren't late to the X Factor thingy. As I handed him my empty cup, his large warm hands brushed mine, sending a shiver down my spine.

Why did he have this strange effect on me? I had no idea but I all I knew was that it was most likely a silly school girl crush that will end soon. I mean I never really was one of those girls who would do anything, and I mean literally anything to get a boy's attention. I'd rather chill out and play some video games with them than go on boring dates.

He smiles and we both leave the cafe, heading to the X Factor building. I remembered that I would find out whose group I was in today and prayed it would be One Direction's. Not just because of how nice Harry had been to me (although that was a really important factor) but just that I'd feel the most at ease with them coaching me than the other judges. I guess I would have to wait to see it until it would be announced on television tonight. The coffee get together with Harry was one of the most fun experiences I've ever had and I was so thankful for his kind demeanor. I could tell I was developing a small, itty-bitty crush on him...maybe.
