“What is going on here?” Katniss asked once she sensed my sudden weakness towards Gale.

“Why do you care? You messed EVERYTHING up! I can’t even look at you right now. Go comfort your baby daddy.” Gale finally finished once Katniss started tearing up. He threw a coat on and exited the house without another word.

“Wow! I can’t believe that you married ‘that’ and claimed to have a baby with him.” This was my effort in trying to cheer Katniss up. She giggled at my remark and replied,

“I know.”

“Where is Gash?” I said.

“He is in the other room playing with his toys,” Katniss replied. “Are you ready to officially meet your son?”

“Ready? I have been waiting an eternity for this privilege.” I laughed.

“Yea, sorry about that it was a little belated.” Katniss figured. Katniss sculpted our hands together as one and lead me to the spare room. Gash was happily entertaining himself with his toys and thumb.

“I can’t believe it! The capitol was right, Gash mirrors your looks.” Katniss snickered.

Gale returned about an hour later and asked to speak to Katniss alone. I stayed with Gash while they talked in the kitchen. Even though I was supposed to be watching Gash, I decided it couldn’t hurt to eavesdrop. The cold door rested against my ear. My body slid down the door frame once I began to translate what my ear just heard.

“What do I do now?” I solemnly announced. Gash was giggling, I could still see him out of the corner of my vision. I sluggishly ambled over to him. Incessantly I started to tickle him until he was laughing with a tint of screaming. With that I darted out of the front door. I quickly twirled my body. I had to remind myself what I’m leaving behind if I opt to do this. I caught a glimpse of Katniss peering through the parlor. Her face wrote the single word, “Why?”

“I have to. This is the right thing to do.” I reassured myself. The reason why I started tickling Gash nonstop was so that if they didn’t realize that I left. They would refrain from leaving Gash unattended. Gash wouldn't have any unanswered needs.

My "home" wasn’t very welcoming. It was plagued with guilt. Everything is so out of place and I am discombobulated. I shouldn’t be back here so soon. Especially without my family and let alone my son. I miss Gash already. I hope one day he knows that.
