Winter Wonderland

Picture the perfect Christmas; white falling snow and a huge tree decorated perfectly.
Nope. This time, seventeen year old Amanda Peterson and her family are spending two weeks in beautiful Hawaii for Christmas break.
And... Amanda meets someone special...

10. Amanda's Point Of View.

What am I doing?!

I pulled back and looked into Joshua's hurt and worried eyes. "I-I'm so sorry," he said.

"No, don't be sorry. It's just... I've never kissed anyone before." I said softly.

Joshua folded his arms across his chest and shook his head. "I don't believe that."

"What? Why not?"

"Because you're so pretty, and you're.... well, you're you."

"Not a lot of people like me."

Silence. Joshua's face fell and he searched my dull eyes for any sign of recognition. I gave him none.

"I've got to go," I said as I got up. "My parents are probably worried about me."

"Wait, Amanda," he grabbeddy hand and I had to stop. "I'm sorry, I didn't know."

"It's okay," I turned and gave him a weak smile. "I'll see you tomorrow?"

He studied my face for a moment, then matched my smile. "Yeah. Tomorrw, sounds good."

I pulled my had out of Joshua's grip and walked back my house. I went into my room and collapsed onto my bed. I just had my first kiss... I put my fingers to my lips and smiled. I called Chrissy and we talked for at least five hours. I told her about what had just happened (leaving out where I said not a lot of pople liked me) and she screamed so loud I had to keep my phone away from my ear.

Perks of having a best friend.

"Yeah Mom?" I said from my sopt on the couch. Duck Dynasty was playing on the TV and I was curled up in my school sweater and a good pair of jeans.

"We got a tree! Come see it!"

"What?" I said smiling as I got up, I ran out side and saw a six foot noble fir Christmas tree standing agaisnt the side of the house. My dad was washing it off with a hose he must've found. I could see different collored ordaments in the car too, red. silver, and purple.

"You can decorate it tomorrow," my mother said, "while your dad and I are out shopping."

"Awesome, yeah, okay," I said in a daze. I had no idea that Hawaii had Christmas trees. This was so cool!
