My poetry collection, volume one

2. Long ago

This place is not what it used to be

No more happiness

We dream of the city it used to be

The thriving market exploding with life no more

The streets were alive with people .. a long time ago

Long ago there were so many monkeys

Swinging from the old pine trees

Dusk comes and drains the colours from the trees

The soft chanting co-cooing

Moonlight it breaches the canopies

Long ago the waves crashed upon the golden sands

As the soft feathered birds flew into the blue sky

The Kraken waved hello to swimmers passing by

This place an untouched exotic paradise

Long ago the mountains stood tall and proud

Rising up over this tranquil place

The wind whispered the knowledge

Of a thousand ancestors.
