The End. (a hunger games fan fiction)

*this is an exerpt from the story*
Tears rolled down my face. My voice dead, my mouth still in a wide 'o' from screaming. My ears were ringing, as I grasped for my life. I was going to die. I screamed for my mother, for my best friend. For anyone to answer. And all I got was nothing. As I grasped the air, I could feel my life slipping through my clenched fingers.
*Sorry if it's not as long as you would like. This is going quicker than I expected.*

8. Eight

I didn't listen much to the other interviews. Not even to my teams. I was caught up in the silver dress I was wearing. The silver was accented by black and red. I practiced the interview over and over with Effie and Haymitch, and got it all down. And before I knew it, it was my turn. I knew my mom and Fuchsia would be watching.

"So, tell me, how did you do it?" Caesar Flickerman asked. He was wearing all yellow, the color of dandelions that grew in the meadow by my house.

"Do what, if I may ask." I answered, smiling.

"Well, the twelve. A perfect score!" He said, smiling. I looked at the audience, only thinking about what would happen I they would all drop dead...

I pushed the thought away. They were to ignorant for that to happen.

"Well, I would tell you. I really would love to, but I'm not allowed to. I'm sorry. But hey, my score proves I know what I'm doing." I answered, smiling.

"Yes. Definitely! And it has all been so crazy. What with you and your twin and all. Including Seda, the wolf girl? Yes. This is sure to be an interesting Game!" Caesar replied, enthusiastically. I knew I would have to act just as enthusiastic if I wanted sponsors.

"Yes! It will be very interesting.  The best part is I will be in the thick of it all!" I replied.

"Lucky you! Sorry! But your time is up!" He said, and I walked away, waiting for my brother,s interview. He barely talked, keeping to himself. I know that I'm the stronger, smarter and faster one if the two, but I wish he could live up to his own. Then, in the arena, maybe I'd have a better chance.

I couldn't sleep. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't. Every minute I dozed off, was another that I saw myself dead. And couldn't die. Not when the Capitol thinks that they own me. And I'm going to give them a show. One they may not like.

trista wakes me. I ignored her, putting on what she gave me. As I walked down, I saw Effie

"I will be rooting for both of you. Just as long as you two don't die in the bloodbath." Effie said, trying to conceal sadness in a smile.

"Stay Alive and show them what your made of." Haymitch said.

"You stay sober. I still need your help." I said. I walked into a hovercraft, wondering where the games are going to be held. I wasn't very sure. But then again, nobody is really sure.

"This won't hurt a bit." Said a woman, pointing a long, sharp needle to my arm.

The pain seared through my arm. I have never needed a shot before, and this was agony.

"that's just your tracker." Said the woman cheerfully.

'yes. Can't let anyone escape. Won't be good for your precious games.' I thought, sending daggers at her. Or, at least pretending to. As we went under the arena, I prepared.

I was given a light, leathery jacket to put on. The pants were a smooth vinyl material. And my shirt was a regular white one. The only token I had had was a flower that Fuchsia gave to me the day before the reaping, but that shriveled up days ago.

I stood on the platform, waiting to be risen up. I knew the plan. Joyce, Seda and I would run and grab as May supplies as we could carry, while Gabe and Chase were to run in the opposite direction, but so we can follow and locate them. I knew that there was probably going to be trees, but I wasn't sure what to suspect.

The cornucopia was on a flat land surrounded by trees and hills. Trees. Thank god. I looked at Seda, then to Joyce. They both nodded, then got in starting position. Gabe and Chase were posed the other way.

I ran. Seda, Joyce and I were first off the plates. We ran to the cornucopia. My job was to grab weapons and. That junk, while Joyce and Seda grabbed like, ten packs each, and handfuls of packed food. We were gone and following Chase and Gabe before anyone took notice. The careers may have The rest of the cornucopia and whatever other tributes didn't take, but at least we had a chance.

We ran, into the thickest part of the forest. I picked the tallest tree, and set all the weapons down. I tore one of the knives out of my arm, before collapsing from blood loss.

"Why didn't you tell us? What happened?" Joyce started panicking. I just couldn't see the Capitol watching this minor blood loss. Most likely still watching the bloodbath.

One cannon. Two. Before I know it, four more have gone off.

"When we were running, I stumbled and one of them lodged into my arm." I explained, trying to make them see that I was okay. I climbed up the tree to the lowest branch, picked some leaves,

and wrapped them around my arm.

"someone check the packs for bandages!" Gabe said, as blood soaked through the leaves. I hopped down, and started looking, too.

"Not you." Chase said, pulling the pack away from me.

"What! But come on!" I said, defiantly looking through the packs. Chase sighed, but let me continue.

"Okay, three water bottles, empty, a ton of food, and Oooh!" I said, reaching into the pack.

"What?" Seda said, eagerly.

"I got us..." I said, making this teasing moment last.

"Ugh! Let me see that!" Joyce said, pulling it away from me.

"Ruin all the fun." I said. Even though I laughed, I shouldn't have. My arm seared with pain, blood pouring out for it.

"Here." Gabe said, throwing me a roll of bandages. "Now, what in bag?" He asked. Gabe was a brute. No doubt about it.

"Oh, just about hmm... The sharpest knife it have ever seen." I said, taking the bag from Joyce, and showing everyone the knife.

"Do you want to see how it works?" I asked.

"We don't need you cutting yourself up." Seda said, searching through more bags. I stuck the knife into the ground and continued looking. We came up with iodine, water skins and bottles, two pairs of socks, four sleeping bags, and a TON of knifes courtesy of me. Oh, also a lot of food, courtesy of Seda and Joyce.

"I'll take first guard. " I said. Even though we are allies, I didn't know if I could trust them.
