I am 19 now. I am sitting out on the front step by myself. Mum isn't here anymore, she left last year. For the better, I suppose. My brother lives in California, in a law firm. And dad, well. He is still here in my heart. I collect the daily paper now, and I sit on the step reading that whilst drinkin my coffee with 5 sugars. I'm lonely. Occasionally friends come over, mostly not though. I work a lot. But on my days off, I find myself sitting here, on the front step staring into a blank neighbourhood.

7. Chapter 7.

Harry and I have been just sutting here for what seems like hours but has only been 40 minutes. Anne made nachos and we ate them in record time and went back to his room and kept talking. "All I am saying is that if you cut off your curls I won't be your friend." I explained after a moment of silence.

"You can't just do that." He points out and I shrug and dangle my hair from the edge of the bed, "I can do what I want." I said and he laughed. My phone began to ring and I pull it out of my pocket before answering it. "Hello." I speak into the phone and sitting up with a groan. "Hey, Charlie." A man spoke, "Mason, what are you calling for?" I said, shocked that he actually called. "Oh, well I was wonderin where you were because I am standing out the front." He said and I jump off the bed and run out of the room. "Where are you going?" Harry called and I continued running down the stairs and out the door.

My legs began to ache and I started slowing down, then I saw Mason looking at his phone and I got all my energy back. "Mason!" I yelled, running around the fence and up the front yard, jumping into his arms. "Hey Charls." He whispers into my hair and I can feel tears brimming my eyes.

"I have missed you so much!" I exclaim as he lets go of me, I stand back and look up at him. "You look so old." I point out and he laughs, "You know, I am here for a reason." He said. I knew it, he wouldn't be here to visit me. "Thought so." I said and he sighed, "I am here to clear out mum and dads stuff." He said and I looked at him, "Sorry, no." I said.

I felt eyes on me and I turned around and saw Harry about 2 feet away from me. I look back at Mason who is eyeing off Harry but looks back at me. "I have to Charlie, you have to let go." He said before turning toward the door. "Mason, I said no! You don't live here, you don't make the rules." I said and he looked for a key under the mat, which of course, was there. He unlocks the door and steps in, I turn to Harry for support but he just looks at me with sympathy.

I run inside behind him and he walks up stairs and into mum and dads room. He opens draws and begins chucking clothes out. "Mason stop." I sob but he continues to touch the clothes. "Mason!" I say a bit louder. Anger and sadness is filling my blood and I feel like screaming.

I try to hard to control myself but once he steps all over mums jewelerry on the floor, I loose it. "Mason stop!" I scream as loud as I can and fall to the floor, hitting his feet off the broken jewelerry on the floor. "Look what you did!" I screamed and he looked down as I looked up at him, holding the brocken braclet and rings. "Charlie, it's over now. Move on." He says like it wasn't his parents who died.

Just as I was about to fight back, I feel so weak. I sit up against a wall and watch him shove everything in bags. I feel someones arms wrap around me and everything is dazed. This is the last I have of my parents and it's going. "Charlie, you will be okay." I hear a voice say. I look over and see Harry looking at me. He softly kissed my forehead and I nuzzle my face into the crook of his neck and sob quietly.

I watch as Mason takes the last of the clothes out of the room and into what I guess is his car. Harry helps me up and we walk into my room. "I can't believe he did that." I whisper. "I think it's time." Harry says as he tucks me into bed. "Time for what?" I asked and he looks and sighs, "It's time too move out." He said and stood up and walked out. Maybe he is right.
