Phyre Gunner: The Spy (Editing Process)

Phyre Gunner. Teenager. Rebel. Spy. Troublemaker. Genius. American. Genetically Perfect.

After the passing of her father, Phyre became the imperfect daughter. After too many detentions and schools, LSA comes looking for the one person that can help them save the world, the same person that is genetically perfect, Phyre Gunner.

14. The Project

I cursed once again. It was the third time, I managed to cut my hand. I wrapped another towel on my hand, and continued working. I had thirty-five minutes to finish the project before they came and ask for it.

“Again?” Adam questioned as he entered the office with coffee.

“Yes.” I replied. “I need you to lock this room.”

“Ok?” Adam replied unsure. “What the hell are you going to do?”

“I want to make sure that no one barges in the room until this thing is done.” I replied as I managed to make some changes.

“Wait a minute.” Adam said and I looked up at him confused. “What happened to the big thing we created?”

“I reduced it.” I replied. “Same power, less obvious.”

“Why smaller?” Adam questioned.

“Are you going to use it on a mission if it really big and obvious?” I questioned rolling my eyes.

“I guess you are right.” Adam replied. “Is it done?”

“Yes.” I replied. “Now it is.”

Mr. Right was talking with the board about the new inventions he had asked some of his agents to put together. The board was talking about the new invention, my father had made, an invisible knife, the only technical problem there was the fact that it was invisible, so you could easily hurt yourself...

“Now we have Phyre Gunner.” Mr. Right said. “And Adam McCoy.”

I nodded at Adam and we walked to the front. “Hi.” I said. “Many of you might have already heard about me. I used to help my father with his inventions and projects.”

“Cut the chase.” A bald man said. “I want to see your invention.”

“Okay.” I said rolling my eyes.

Adam put our small box in the middle of the table. I pressed the red button and stood there awkwardly, as it function.

“What the hell is that?” Another dude asked.

“It’s a box.” I replied.

“Obvious.” Bald man rolled his eyes.

“If you let me talk without interrupting me, then you would understand how this works genius.” I attacked back. “As I was saying, it is a box, but when you press the red button, hidden on a corner, it will take a picture, as to speak, it’s more of an x-ray, of the whole room, including people.”

“Where does it send it?” Mr. Right questioned.

“To the phone or to whatever it has bluetooth and it’s synced.” Adam replied.

“At the moment, my phone is the one receiving the information.” I replied. “Mr. Bald head, please make sure to destroy your listening device.” I added with a smirk.

Mr. Bald head looked surprise and did destroy the device right in front of my eyes. This was the most amazing project I had ever done.

After the presentation, Adam and I were given two days free so that we could gather up our energy once again, as we were going to start training for the field.
