31. Research

It was 6:55pm and I still hadn’t figure out who was Marianna. I knew that she was the wive of Michael, but that was it. It was really hard to find someone when you don’t have a clue of who they might be.

I heard the door open, meaning that Marianna was back from the supermarket, and I had to pretend to be doing homework. I closed my old laptop and hid between my pillows and grabbed my physics book and started doing the homework that I was missing. It was fairly easy as I was a goddamn genius, but it was frustrating not being able to figure someone out.

“Phyre!” I heard Michael shouted. “Are you here?!”

“Yeah.” I replied coming out of my room.

“Where’s Marianna?” Michael questioned.

“She said that she had to go to do some grocery shopping.” I replied.

“What?” Michael furrowed his eyebrows. “She went yesterday.”

“Well, she told me that.” I said with a shrug. “Hey, if you don’t mind asking, what’s Marianna’s maiden name?”

“Yale.” Michael replied. “Why do you ask?”

“Today they told me that, but I wasn’t sure.” I lied.

“Phyre.” Michael looked straight to my eye. “Are you keeping yourself out of trouble?”

“So far no calls right?” I questioned.

“You’re right.” Michael answered. “Do you have any contact with either Adam or Tyler?”

“No.” I lied. “Why?”

“Cause Tyler was at the office today.” Michael replied. “And I thought I wasn’t going to see him anytime soon.”

I shrugged and returned to my bedroom. I need to make sure that neither of them told Michael they were doing a job for me. I grabbed my computer and went to the Google, I had more research to do.

Marianna Jade

Daughter to Mr. Angelo Jade. The 28 year old is married to Michael George (30 year old) and live at the outside of London.

I rolled my eyes, this was not going to help me. I took out my old laptop from between the pillows and started typing her name and tracking everywhere it had appeared. Perks of being the spy.

Meanwhile the research did it’s job, I decided that if I wanted to become normal and not cause any trouble, I would do my homework. I started with Physics, then continued with Math, Biology, Geography, and History. I was finishing the last paragraph of the essay I was supposed to be writing when I heard a car ignition shut down.

I stood up from my bed and walked over to the window and saw Marianna talking on the phone with someone. I furrowed my eyebrows as I saw her picking up her purse and an apple juice. I had to find out where she was.

I was still looking out at her when my computer beeped. I turned around and walked over to it, I gasped in surprise as the screen showed what I feared the most.

Marianna Angelica Jade, cofounder of ALLA.
