25. Supplies

I went out with Molly to collect supplies and I’m pretty sure she could tell I was on edge.

“Are you alright?” She asked looking at me with a puzzled look on her face.

“I’m fine it’s just the last time I did this me and my friend nearly died,” I said it really dramatically but calmed down when I saw her face.

“You’ll be fine,” she said though she sounded like she doubted herself now. I nodded and we carried on along the street the shop we were going to was a small local shop it was only about the size of a bungalow but it had everything we needed inside.

“Here we are,” she said nervously as we entered the shop, “You get all the food and I’ll get the other supplies.” I nodded and we got to work. I started by finding some fruit that hadn’t gone off which was hard because it had been five years. I managed to find: five apples, two oranges and one banana which weren’t that bad. Then I went and gathered all the tins and dried fruit and finally looked at the meat to see if there was anything. But I had no luck with the meat or the dairy either.

“How are you doing,” Molly said over the nearest divide in isles.

“Fine,” I said as I stuffed it all into my bag, “I’m done how about you?” I waited listening to the sound of silence until she finally spoke.

“I’m done too come on let’s go,” she said and we both ran off into the street outside we didn’t stop running until we were back safely inside the kitchen panting on the floor.

“Few that was close,” I said as I sat there on the floor regaining my breath. Molly smiled at me as she regained hers and then we both stood up in unison and got to work on unpacking the entire shopping if you can call it that.

“Hey guys it’s the men’s turn to cook dinner me and Dylan can handle this,” Mason said strolling in with Dylan on his heels and they completely taking over.

“Let them it is their turn,” I said as I saw Molly’s face afterwards, “Trust me it is always better to let men think that they are dominant even though they aren’t.”

“Ok I’ll have to remember that next time,” Molly said giggling as we walked into the living room and sprawled out onto the chair. About half an hour later Dylan came in and bowed.

“Dinner is served,” he said bowing and guiding us to the kitchen, “Today for your gourmet dinner we are having granola bars cold soup and if you’re lucky an apple.”

“Oh thank you my brave chiefs what a delight to be given such a filling meal and an apple too oh I’m so delighted,” I said sarcastically as I walked in to the kitchen with Molly to have my tea.
