He was a boy, she was a girl, can I make it anymore obvious?
He was a punk, and she did ballet, what more can I say?

6. 6. Changed.

Melanie's P.O.V

After the show I was still inside the arena, Lilly and Trisha ran out with the rest of the girls waiting for Harry to come out, I just needed some time to think because I still can’t believe he is one of the most famous people in the world.

“I never knew you would come.” I heard a dark husky voice from behind me.

I quickly turned around and faced Harry, he had his hands in his pocket and wore that little smirk that always got me.

“Neither did I.” I whispered as he took a step closer, “You’ve changed… A lot.”

“Yeah, puberty does that to people.” He said which made me roll my eyes.

“And your personality as too.” I said with a sigh.

“I didn’t plan to stay as the same old curly haired boy, who was in love with the most popular girl in school, Mel.” He told me.

“Yeah.” I breathe, “I’ve changed too, y’know. I’m more confident, doesn’t let anyone control me anymore, and I’m not that focused on my reputation anymore.”

“Good for you.” He said dryly.

“Why didn’t you say goodbye?” I asked as he cocked an eyebrow.

He let out a laugh before taking another step towards me, “You told me to not talk to you, and you never wanted to be near me again.”

“Yeah, but I didn’t mean that, you know that Harry.” I told him.

“I know that. But you embarrassed me in front of the crowd, you promised you would tell them and I trusted you.” He said raising his voice.

“Harry, it was three years ago, just let it go.” I told him as I saw him tightening his jaw and clenching his fist.

“Look,” He said through gritted teeths, “I might forgive you on this one, but I’ll never forget. And it’s not easy to let it go when I loved you.”

“You loved me?” I asked as he looked another way, shutting his eyes.

“What do you think, Mel? That I just did those things for fun? Like trying to protect you from that Austin guy? Like playing that song for you? Like being there for you when no one else was? Didn’t you notice all those things?” He shouted as I backed a few steps until my back was facing the wall behind me.

“I noticed.” I whispered as my lips started to shake.

“Then what do you want me to do, Mel? Because this is not my fault.” He told me.

“It’s you who walked away.” I said.

“Oh, and let’s not forget the one who made me walk away.” He said with a fake laugh.

I remained silent, I didn’t know what to say, he wasn’t the same anymore. And I shouldn’t have come at all, this was all a mistake.

“I loved you too… You know.” I told him as he furrowed his eyebrows at me.

“What?” He asked.

“Even though you didn’t know what happened the night you found me crying, or that day Austin forced me out of school. You were there for me, and I fell for you. I even was in love with you when you first said ‘hi’ the first day of school.  And when I got my first kiss with you in that tree house, I knew that I loved you.” I told him.

He just stood there, looking like it came like a shock, he quickly shook his head and looked at me again, “I didn’t ask for your life story.” He smirked as I raised my eyebrows.

“You’re an asshole, no offence.” I told him.

“None taken.” He said.

“So this is your life now? Having millions of teenage girls running after you?” I asked.

“Yeah, sometimes I wish I was ugly.” He cocked as I rolled my eyes.

“But you know what they say, behind every great man, is a woman rolling her eyes.” He said pointing his finger at me.

“Wow, cut down your confidence Romeo.” I said as he chuckled.

" It’s just so tough to be such a sex symbol." He smirked.

“Harry, you okay there?” I heard Miguel’s voice say from behind him.

“Yeah.” He smirked looking at me before turning around to face Miguel, “Mental note, mate.” He said pointing over at me, “Never date this girl.” He said before walking away.

“It’s been a long time.” Miguel started as he walked over to me.

“It sure has.” I sighed rubbing my forehead, “I can’t believe he’s still mad at me.”

“Darling, he was never mad at you.” He told me.

“Then what was he?” I asked.

“Hurt.” He said and backed a few steps, “He was hurt.” He repeated before walking away.
