How sweet the Taste

With a world full of mysteries, secrets and lies, how certain are you that you aren't apart of something beautifully dangerous? Something incredibly supernatural? Anna was fairly certain from a young age that something just wasn't right.

4. You're Afriad

“I can’t help but sense that you are scared of me.” He said, stuffing his hands into his pockets as we walked. I swallowed hard, studying the floor beneath my feet.
“That’s not really a question, Styles.” I say, glancing up at him before back down. He sighed.
“Why are you scared of me?” He asked, taking a left. I stopped noticing we were at the dead end hallway. Traffic had thinned out, students rushing to class so they won’t be late.
“Who said i’m scared of you?” I asked, tilting my head up to look a little bit tougher. His dark eyes watched my pitiful attempts to be brave.
“You don’t have to say the words. Your body tells me everything i need to know. If i shift towards you, you automatically shift back. When i get close, you put distance between us. You stutter when you talk to me and you’ve been avoiding me.” He said, taking a step towards me to demonstrate. I did what i felt like i needed to; i stepped back. His eyes turned a little sad before quickly shifting into curiosity.
“I’m not scared of you. I’m scared of who you look like.” I said, shifting the weight of my bag over a little. He frowned, his look questioning.
“Look, i really don’t want to get into this.” I said, feeling suddenly embarrassed that i was terrified of a figment of my imagination. He leaned forward, crossing his arms over his chest.
“I want to know.” He stated, his eyes locked on my face. I shifted uncomfortably, feeling a little intimidated has the male held his ground.
“It’s nothing, just some nightmare i’ve been having since i was little. I don’t know why i thought it could be you, just the resemblance kinda took me off guard. It did scare me. But you don’t.” I said, feeling silly has i explained my actions towards him. Of course i was lying, this kid scared the hell out of me, but i wasn’t going to let him know that.
“A nightmare? What’s is about?” He asked, raising one eye brow at me. I mentally groaned. I really do not want to make an idiot out of myself anymore than i already have.
“I don’t know, vampires, okay? I really just don’t want to talk about it.” I said, suddenly feeling tired, exhausted.
“So you saw me as a vampire in your dream?” He asked, his voice sounded a little amused. I rolled my eyes, anger slowly building up.
“Look, i said i don’t want to talk about it, so drop it.” I said hastily, turning around as i planned on storming off. I twirled around to jump back, finding Harry very close to me.
“You was just behind me.” I said, getting a little freaked out. He walked towards me slowly, making me walk back until my back was pressed against the wall. As he walked closer, i felt it building, the pressure in my chest. It’s been a while since i’ve had a panic attack but i’m still well aware of the symptoms. He came to stop a couple of inches in front of me. The back of his hand was raised, lightly brushing against my cheek.
“Shh, it’s okay. I’m not going to hurt you.” He said, almost whispering the cold words. My heart sped up, my breath coming in difficult shallow pants as i his eyes flashed and he was gone. I slowly sank to the ground, trying to stop the painful short gasps my body was trying to take. I slid my bag off, placing my head between my knees as i tried to calm down. Once my breathing returned to normal, i stood on shaky legs, retrieving my bag and left school, not bothering to check out. I went straight home, slamming and locking the door behind me.
