8. Chapter 8

Louis smiled as he peered out his window finding Riley laying down on her lawn. He quickly did his morning routine then threw on a pair of basketball shorts, a white tee with a black zippered hoodie and black converse. He slipped a beanie over his hair and walked out his house. He chuckled and walked across the street. "You okay there love?" He smiles. She smiled up at him. Louis got butterflies as she sat up. "Oh hey LouBear!" She smiled. Riley made the nickname up last night. Yes, she thought of him last night, believe it or not she planned on knocking on his door but was working up the courage but decided to lay down instead. He laughed, his laugh was music to her ears. She loved it, how it wasn't loud but not quiet either. It was perfect. Louis was perfect. She knew it'd never work. "You got a bit of grass in your hair babe." He chuckled, pulling out some grass. She giggled as he plucked the last blade of grass out. "Good?" She giggled. "Perfect." He smiled, moving a bit closer to Riley. Their arms rubbing against each other. They don't break eye contact. "So LouBear huh?" He smirks, Riley blushed. "I wont call you that -" "No, I love it. It's perfect." Louis smiled, pulling a strand behind her ear. She blushed automatically. No one has ever touched her like that, smiled at her like that. "That's -" "Kiss me." Louis couldn't wait anymore. He wanted those lips so bad. She blinked. She wasn't sure what to do. No one's asked her to do that for a while. She was twelve the last time anyone said such a thing to her. Louis sat there nervous. Did she not want to kiss him? Did she not like him back? Was he moving way too fast? Things were never this hard and confusing with Eleanor. Maybe, just maybe Riley wasn't the one, and Eleanor was. They were just going through a rough patch. "I gotta go." Louis mumbled, getting up. He began to walk away. He stooped at the curb, was she gonna go after him, like Eleanor would? He heard her sigh and he looked back to see her laying on the grass again. He nodded sadly and began walking away again. She wasn't the one. She's not the person he made her out to be. She isn't perfect, but maybe Louis isn't ready for people who aren't perfected. Maybe  Louis just isn't ready for the real world full of real unperfected people who can hurt you in a matter of seconds. He isn't ready for rejection, he isn't ready for her. He just isn't ready.
