5. Chapter 5

Riley sang quietly along with the music that flowed through her ear buds as she made spaghetti. "You think I'm biased, to my significant other." She sang along with Justin's All That Matters. "RILEY!" Her older sister Leah, called for her. "YEAH!" She broke the raw noodles into pieces and dropped them in the water. "MOM SAYS WE'RE HAVING NEW NEIGHBORS TOMORROW! SO GET READY!" She finishes. "KAY!" She yelled back as her younger sister Destiny came in with her purple sparkly iPod dock and her favorite pink fairy costume, wings and all. She grabbed a chair and pushed it to the counter and crawled onto it. "What are you doing?" Riley giggled. She loved her sister but she can be a bit weird and annoying. "I'm going to make cookies for the new neighbors." She smiled, exposing her missing teeth. Riley laughed at her sister as she grabbed the ingredients for her sister and bowl and spoons she needed. "Could you play your music?" She begged. Riley pulled out an ear bud. "What happened to your iPod?" She questions, an eyebrow raised. "I like listening to your music cause it's really nice and makes me feel...nice." Destiny says simply. Riley sighs and connects her iPod. "What song babes?" She asks her sister as she scrolled through her collection. "Rock Me!" She says playing with her wand. Riley taps the song and it blares out of the speakers as she continues making dinner. "Alright! Just need the noodles to finish and we're all good!" She claps her hands, checking on her sister's progress. Which wasn't very far. "Babe? What are you doing?" She watches her sister continuously hit the bag of flour with her wand. "I don't get it. In the movies it worked." Destiny sighs, stomping her foot. "There fucking movies and not real. Like Santa Clause." Their brother Jake slurred. "Santa isn't real?" Destiny's voice shook as her bottom lip quivered. "Coarse it is sweetie. Hey you go get ready for your bath. We'll make the cookies tomorrow." Riley whispered as her sister smiled and scurried off. "Do you find joy crushing her dreams?" She spat, staring at her brother in disgust as he stumbled here and there. He finally bumped into the table and sat down. "Hey, better now than later." He chuckles. "You're disgusting." She mutters walking out. "YA KNOW YOU LOVE ME!" He slurred. She groaned. She did love the lad but still. He was disgusting. She heard a big clatter and knew he spilled the noodles. Looks like they were having Pizza. Again.
