What If: A Harry Potter Fanfiction

Most people never knew that Sirius Black had a daughter. Understandable, because Meadow Black was kept in an anti-aging spell for 36 years. Finally, she has awoken. Finally, she is off to Hogwarts. Finally, her life has begun. But will it end soon after beginning?

6. Friendship

"Hey Meadow?"

Meadow looked up sleepily. Standing above her was Margo Parkinson, one of Pansy Parkinson's four children. She was twirling her greasy black hair around one finger and staring at Meadow intently with sleepy grey eyes.

Meadow had rarely spoken to Margo in the month and a half they had been in Hogwarts. Just the usual nod hello and small talk when Albus and Scorpius were off doing something else. "Yeah?" she slurred in reply.

"I heard your mum won't let you home for Christmas."

Meadow glared at Margo angrily. Suddenly, she didn't like the girl all that much. "First of all, Margo, she's not my mum, and second, I don't give a damn if she lets me come home for Christmas. She's just a stupid woman my mum left in charge of me when she got sent t-er, died."

Margo winced back and bit her lip. "I'm sorry." she said weakly. She looked like the might cry. Meadow regretted yelling at her.

"It's all right." she replied sadly and sat up. "It's true, Vivian won't allow me home for Christmas. Why?"

Margo nervously twirled her black hair around her finger. "Well . . . you see . . . um . . . mymumjustdied."

Meadow squirmed uncomfortably. She didn't know how to deal with the death of someone close to her. She and her mother had never exactly been friends, and she had rarely seen her father. "I . . . I'm sorry, Margo . . . I . . ."

"Marcia's already been sent to a Wizarding orphanage. Marshall, Maria, and I . . . what's going to happen to us?" she looked like she would definitely cry now.

"What about your dads?" Meadow sighed.

Margo snorted distastefully. "We don't know who our fathers are. Hell, even Mum probably doesn't even know. They probably don't care anyway."

Ah. Pansy Parkinson was one of those sleeparound types.

"Marshall's of age, isn't he?"

"Yeah, but the Ministry doesn't think he can take care of himself and three underage witches. They think we're too old for the orphanage but too young to live with our older brother."

"I don't know, Margo, I don't know."

Margo actually began to cry. Meadow froze up and awkwardly patted her back. She'd never thought of Margo Parkinson as a friend, but it seemed they were, indeed, more than simply acquantinces.

This brought up a question into Meadow's mind.

What if Vivian decided to disown her?

What would happen then?
