Watery Grave

A poem about water.

1. Watery Grave

Wave after wave knocking me under,

stealing away my breath.

Was my prayer answered, I wonder?

finally, my long awaited death.

My lips part, water's sucked in,

my lungs feel they're going to burst.

Despite the pain I don't resist,

I know I've been through worse.

Just bare through, I'm almost there,

my energy's draining fast.

I let the water drown my despair,

I'm becoming numb at last.

The darkness is creeping over my eyes,

I feel heavy in the rocking waves.

I'm smiling as I face my demise,

finally happy in my watery grave.
