A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

92. A Blur

I can't remember ever saying this amount of curses - ever. I can't even remember learning them. I called Katy every bad word my braid could find.

Laughing, she disappeared by the distance.

Both Alex and Sirius fell.

Oh God. They must be dead.

I shook my head, trying to clear it off of the thought. They can't be dead, they can't.

Another red light. Alex's. I have to admit it, just this time at least. I wasn't happy about Lucius catching Katy. I wasn't happy about her survival, and I don't care if that makes me a horrible person, I just don't freaking care about anything now. All I want is Alex. And Sirius. I want to scream. And cry. And that's all I do. At least not the crying part, just the screaming part.

My knees couldn't carry me anymore. I fell to the ground, screaming.

When I looked at James, I found him shocked. Just staring at the sky, blankly. I can't remember ever seeing him so - distant. Not even when he had a fight with Lily. This wasn't some kind of stupid fight. This was the life of our friends.

And I think we just lost two of them.

"She's dead!" I shouted to the sky. "You hear that!? She's dead! I did what I was requested. I killed her! I KILLED HER!" I screamed, hoping he'll hear me.

James finally summoned his broomstick, without any of us saying a word, I sat behind him. He went in full speed to the ground.

I wanted to hit him.

While I was on fire, he was so cold!

All I wanted to do was scream and cry and all he did was - being silent, staring blankly. Flying bullet-fast. For a minute I thought it was suicide, that he wanted to join them, maybe kill us both, but then he slowed down, not gradually, though. We did hit the ground, although it was painful, not killing. There was a huge, huge crowd. Every one of them were cheering us. Cheering us like crazy.

I don't want anyone cheering me!

I couldn't even help my own best friend. My sister.

I couldn't help either of them. I couldn't do anything.

I don't deserve the cheering - I don't even deserve to win.

All I could see was a blur and all I could hear was a buzz. People, people, people.

I want her, I want him. I want them.

Alex can't die.

Sirius can't die.

But I think I am dead.
