I love my job. I love being a photographer. My boss is my best friend too and we share an apartment together. Nope, I don’t have a boyfriend. And I don’t plan on getting one either. My life is just too busy. Every morning Maria and I get up at 6:00 in the morning with a healthy breakfast and go for a 5km run. Then we head over to the local fitness centre and work out for an hour or two before coming home to shower and get ready for work. And yes, I do have abs. Seeing as Maria is my best friend as well as my boss, she’s always hooking me up with cool contracts and jobs. I’m 20 years old and I’ve already photographed Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Adele and Chris Brown. Yeah, for my job I kinda specialize in photographing singers. But in my spare time, I love to photograph things from a different perspective. Like one time, I climbed to the top of a tree in Hyde Park to take a photo of the fountain. But then I fell and completely shattered my arm and cracked a few ribs too. I got lucky though and it didn’t stop me from climbing trees for photos.

When I woke up this morning at 6 to start our usual routine, Maria was nowhere to be found. I eventually found a note on the fridge saying that she had to go to work super early because there was something HUGE she had to sort out.

When I got home at 9, I was all hot and bothered. It was May and already over thirty degrees. After showering, I dressed in an off-shoulder, bright coloured print playsuit and really high wedges which made my tan legs look miles long. I brushed my long brown hair and secured two sections of the sides back with bobby pins. I put on my silver, ever present, silver heart necklace which my mother had given me. I nearly always wore it. I grabbed my hand bag, my phone, my camera and my papers and headed off to work.

It was only a ten minute drive to the office and as soon as I stepped into the building, the excited buzz instantly stopped and all the girls who worked there started death glaring me. I was confused but shrugged it off as I went and sat down at my desk. My butt had barely touched the seat when Maria called out from the other side of the room that she needed to see me in her office. I wasn’t nervous. But I’m wondering if I should have been.
