Abby's Dad took his arm off her shoulders and gave her another hug. Then he got up and walked slowly over to the door. Before he left, he turned around.

'Maybe take another look at his message. It might help.' Then he left the room. Abby listened to her Dad's footsteps clunk heavily down the stairs until they faded away. Maybe she would take a look at the notebook. She slid off her bed and over to her desk where the notebook lay closed. She opened it and looked at the message again.

48 days? What? Abby read the message over again. Yes, it said he knew her for 48 days. That was a lie! But Jamie wouldn't lie, not in his last message. Maybe it meant something? Abby looked at the message closer. Now she saw some letters in italics. What? Had he left a clue?

'Abby! Dinner!' called her Dad, stomping up and into her room.

'Abby?' Abby was bent over her desk, her finger tracing under the words, muttering things under her breath.

'What? Oh Dad! I found something amazing out! It's to do with Jamie!' Her Dad came over.

'What's that honey?'

'Well, Jamie said he had known me for 48 days but he didn't. Then I saw some letters were in italics. If I put all the italics in order and put the number 48 in front it spells 48 JUNE DRIVE. That's an address! Dad, it might be Jamie's new address!'

'Wow, that's an amazing discovery but dinner is growing cold. You can search for the house after. Now, come eat your pork chops.'

'No! I have to find out what's going on!'

'Abby! I know your upset and curious but you have to stop obsessing! I don't care about Jamie, I just want you to eat and move on. You only knew him for five or six days.' Abby felt hurt. Just a few hours ago he was so comforting and understanding. What had happened? She needed to find Jamie. For some she had a burning passion to find him, he was her only friend.

'Abby! Move! Now!'

'Fine!' yelled Abby.

'If you want me to be unhappy, so be it!' Then she stormed downstairs.
