16. Close Your Eyes.

My legs were throbbing, every step I took felt like I was being electrocuted as the rain pounded at our faces as we continued up the never ending stairs. Why the hell did I agree to this!? I stopped to catch my breath looking up at the two tedious flights of steps we still had to clamber up.

"Arrh!" I let out an exhausted groan a long with a small giggle.

"Come here." Liam stood with his back facing me, bending his knees so he was a little shorter. Then he surprised me when he grabbed the back of my thighs wrapping my legs around him and lifting me up.

"Never too old for a piggy back." He chuckled to himself as I let out a louder giggle and quickly clung my arms around his neck resting my chin on his shoulder. Liam's warmth caressed my body as he effortlessly carried us both up the last few steps; I really need to get healthier.

"Here we are." He announced as he lowered my feet gently to the ground. I raised my eyebrows at him slightly confused at why we were here. We were in the pouring rain, in the middle of the city, on a roof. I mean, what? There wasn't even anything up here.

"Don't look so disappointed." Liam chuckled once more holding out his hand in front of me. My eyes flickered to the gesture and then back to his patient eyes. Then I smiled politely taking his hand in mine as he began to pull me along towards the edge of the roof.

"Close your eyes." He spun around stopping me from continuing to walk. My eyebrows rose again as I looked back at him, eventually giving in and closing my eyes. I then stood there for a moment in the darkness of my eyelids before feeling the warm touch of his hands cover my eyes from behind. I giggled at the thought of him not trusting me to keep them shut.

"Ok, carefully walk forward." Liam's breathy voice sent shivers across my body as I felt him talk into my ear. I did as I was told, holding my hands out in front of me as I took small careful steps forward. I had taken about six or seven steps before I could feel my hands touch a small brick wall in front of me. Must be the edge of the roof.

"Is this the part when you throw the vulnerable, blindfolded girl over the edge of the building?" I questioned Liam as I began to giggle and heard a throaty chuckle escape him. He didn't reply to my ridiculous question but just uncovered my eyes.

"You can look now." He spoke as he continued to stand behind me and gently rested his hands on my hips as the sight in front of me came into view.
