MatiIsNotOnFire & AmazingAeryn (Dan & Phil FanFic)

When Mati and Aeryn move into a new flat, they least expect to be next door to Dan Howell and Phil Lester. It all kicks off when the girls start playing My Chemical Romance at full volume, drawing the guy's attention. Dan wants to join the party, but Phil isn't so pleased - until he sees Aeryn. The guys are shocked at first, when the girls don't recognise them from YouTube, but then they see it as a way to make genuine friends (or more?;). That is, until Aeryn figures it out, but promises to keep their fame a secret from Mati.
Mati and Dan end up being in the same law class, whereas Phil likes to stalk Aeryn to her job, at the bakery. Mati still doesn't know the boys are famous, even when they participate in some videos, thinking it's 'just a vlog'. But what will happen if she ever finds out they're famous?

17. Snow!

Aeryn's POV

(A/N I've been crying with laughter after reading Molly's POV. Ball-balls instead of baubles, really Molly?! Anyway, over to my POV...)

"They say all teenagers scare the livin' shit out of me!" Mati yells.

"They could care less as long as someone will bleed!" I yell back, happily dancing to the beat.

"So darken your clothes!"

"Or strike a violent pose!"

"Maybe they'll leave you alone!"

"But not me!"

The pair of us are in the kitchen, listening to Teenagers by My Chemical Romance. *Silently cries over their break-up*. We're making breakfast, Mati's on toast duty, and I'm on bacon and egg duty. A pretty healthy breakfast, in my opinion. If bacon was healthy I'd be like an Olympian or something. Anyway, back to the point...

"Nope! I refuse to listen to this song!" Mati declares, as a new song starts playing from my iPod.

I understand what she means, it's Second and Sebring by Of Mice and Men, in other words, the song that produces tears everytime we hear it. Smoothly, I tap the next button on my iPod, changing the song to Starlight, by Muse. I love this song!

"Ugh, Aeryn, you know I don't like Muse," Mati whines, buttering some toast.

"What did I just hear!?" Dan yells, walking into our flat without knocking, "You don't like Muse?! I'm sorry Mati, but this just isn't going to work out."

Despite his words, he's happy enough to push her against the breakfast bar, and kiss her. Rolling my eyes, I make gagging noises, but they don't stop, nope, they're pretty happy to eat each others' faces off in my kitchen. Cringing, I put the bacon and eggs onto our plates, grab two pieces of toast, and take my food into the lounge.

I curl up on the loveseat, flick the TV on, and eat my breakfast. I'm wearing a pair of boy shorts, and one of Phil's sweatshirts. I can't be bothered to get dressed yet, so I'm also rocking the no make-up, messy hair look. It's actually quite cold, but I suppose it is Christmas Eve, it's not going to be warm.

"Morning, beautiful," Phil softly greets me, joining me on the loveseat.

"Morning, boo," I reply, feeding him a bit of bacon.

I tuck my feet underneath me, as he pulls me against him. He's fully dressed, and showered, then there's me... Anyway, he's wearing black, straight leg jeans, and a big, purple sweatshirt. He looks really cute, with his damp hair, slightly wavy.

"Have you looked outside?" he asks, nuzzling my neck.

"No, why?" I frown, confused.

"It's snowing," he grins, but I don't find anything entertaining about it.

"What? It's snowing?" I push my plate onto the coffee table with a clatter, and run over to the window.

Flinging the curtains open, I'm met with frosted panes, and a flurry of white dust. It can't snow, no, not now!

"Baby, what's wrong? Don't you like snow?" Phil asks, concerned, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind.

"Mati and I are meant to go home today - for Christmas, with our families," I can feel my eyes welling up slightly, homesickness suddenly overwhelming me.

"Aeryn, it's okay, you can spend Christmas with Dan and I. You can Skype your brother all day if you want, so you're kind of there. Then maybe you could go home for New Year?" he quickly suggests, cupping my face.

"But I wanted to spend New Year with you," I admit sheepishly, not making eye contact.

"Then I can come with you to Liverpool, for New Year," he hugs me, and I nod.

"Yeah, let's do that," I sigh in relief.

"I'm coming too!" Dan shouts, joining the hug.

Mati shrugs and joins in too, and I can't help but laugh. I guess after three months of being away from home, I'm starting to get a bit homesick. I just really want to see my parents, my old friends, and just have a day back in Liverpool, as the old me. However, I'm not complaining, I love London, I love living with Mati, and of course, I love having Phil.

"You know that means you have to meet my family, right?" I smirk, nudging Phil in the ribs.

His face pales slightly, and his eyes go wide, "What? Oh yeah... Oh my God they're going to hate me! I'm just going to muck everything up, and they won't even-"

"Phil, shut up," the three of us say in unison.

"What?!" he seems so confused, that it's adorable, "Seriously, they're not going to think I'm good enough for you-"

"Phil, shut up," we all say again.

"Her family are very lovely, there's no need to worry," Mati comforts him, "Anyway, she was with a guy who abused-"

"Mati," I warn her.

"In other words... They'll be impressed by anyone, better than that," she shrugs lightly, giving me a guilty look.

Phil gives me a look of complete sympathy, his eyes brimming with tears. I give him a weak, lopsided smile, really not wanting to remember my dark days as his girlfriend. Shuddering it off, I grab the last piece of toast on my plate, and finish eating it. Quickly moving on from that subject, Phil shoves me into the shower, telling me to get dressed so we can go out in the snow.

Quickly, I obey, actually kind of excited. I pull on a pair of leggings, followed by black skinny jeans, a tank top, a grey sweatshirt, and about fifty pairs of socks. I pull my massive winter coat on, a scarf, a slouch beanie, and some gloves. Before the gloves, I apply some natural make-up, and tie my hair in a side plait, to keep it out of the way. Pulling on my combat boots, I return to the lounge to find everyone else in their winter gear.

"You look like a marshmallow," Phil teases me, trying to fit his arms all the way around me.

"You look like a cloud," I reply, unable to get my arms around him at all.

"That's actually pretty cool..." he jokes, kissing the tip of my nose.

"C'mon, stop with the PDA, lets go throw snowballs at random strangers!" Dan whines, Mati's arm linked through his.

Laughing like children, we get outside, immediately hit by a wall of freezing air. I can feel my cheeks turning pink, but I don't even care. The streets are completely dead, as it's too dangerous to drive, but a few people are trudging their way through. Dan runs ahead, so Mati lets go of him, smugly watching him run through the snow without her.

Gracefully, she scoops some floor from the ground, and I quickly tap record on my phone (with my nose, as it's pretty difficult to do anything with gloves on). Just as Dan turned around to talk to us, she throws the snowball in his unsuspecting face, making all three of us breakdown in laughter.

"Send that to me, that's so going in the video," Phil laughs, his breath making steam clouds in the air.

"What video?" I ask, hearing Dan curse at Mati with good spirit.

"I'm making a special snow day video, with my beautiful girlfriend, and my best friends," he explains, lightly kissing me.

Blushing, I poke him in the ribs, mumbling a soft 'okay'. I look up to see Dan returning the favour to Mati, throwing a snowball at the back of her head. Giggling, she throws another back, as they form a mini snowball fight. More people are coming outside, to enjoy the snow, despite how busy this street normally is.

"Girls versus boys!" I scream, and almost everyone outside splits into two teams, ready for a huge snowball fight.

The battle begins, even though we don't really know each other, we have a laugh anyway. Everyone's careful around the younger kids, but between the young adults... It's war. Mati, two other girls, and I form allies, protecting each other from the evil... AKA males... I take this stuff seriously.

We can see that Dan, Phil, and the boyfriends of the girls we're with, forming allies too, and we can't help but laugh. We're all around the same age, as far as I can see without my glasses. Anyway, I throw a snowball at a random guy, who immediately starts searching for the culprit. Awkwardly, I hide behind Mati, pretending not to notice anything out of the ordinary.

"Hey!" the guy yells, clearly realising it was me.

He forms a snowball, and throws it at me, only managing to hit my knee. Cheekily, I stick my tongue out at him, and he shakes his head, chuckling to himself. Moving on to my next victim, I get another square hit in the face, but he doesn't realise it was me.

The battle carries on for another ten minutes, some more people joining, some dropping out. The teams are starting to get closer, less afraid of being hit. All of my dignity left when I started this, so I don't really care.

Running forwards to get away from the opposing team, I run straight into someone. I fall backwards, with the person on top of me, landing oh so gracefully in the snow. Groaning in pain, I open my eyes to see the guy I hit with a snowball earlier, his face flushed in embarrassment. Up close, he has soft, brown eyes, with firetruck red hair, sticking up randomly. He's actually quite cute, but he looks too young, plus, he can't even compare to Phil.

"Um, hello," I awkwardly say, expecting him to get up.

"Hi," he breathes, out of breath from running, "You're the girl who got me, earlier," he says, looking straight into my eyes.

"Ha-ha," I nervously laugh, "Yeah, sorry."

"It's fine, it is a snowball fight, after all. You're very pretty, by the way," he tells me, taking some of his weight off of me.

"Uh..." I blush a lot, unsure of what to say.

"I know, she is very, very pretty, isn't she?" another voice joins in, sounding only slightly jealous.

Immediately, the guy gets off of me, scrambling to his feet. Phil helps me up, and brushes all of the snow off of my back.

"Sorry, man, didn't know she was taken," the guy defends himself, holding his hands up in his defence.

"It's fine," Phil dismisses him, not really giving the 'fine' vibe.

Once he's gone, I turn to Phil, "Dude, chill, it's not like he came onto me, or anything."

"Aeryn, he was lying on top of you!" his voice goes slightly higher than normal.

"It was an accident, we just ran into each other!" I insist, unsure of why I'm defending him.

"I'm sorry," Phil gazes down at his feet, "I'm just jealous."

I make a little 'aw' sound, and hug him tightly, pressing the side of my face against his chest. Even through his many layers of clothing, I can hear his quick heartbeat. I kiss him, smiling when he kisses me back.

"Hey, stop the love fest, he's the enemy!" Mati yells at me, and I laugh, breaking the kiss off.

"You know, she's right," Phil nods, his hands in his pockets.

"I know," I say, stepping back warily.

He makes no move, so as quick as possible, I gather some snow, and throw it at him. Running away, I can hear him laughing at me.

The battle continues, and I can't help but smile. If you're wondering why, it's because I'm still thinking about Molly saying ball-balls, instead of baubles.
