A life worth living

My life before I ran away looked perfect, a house in the suburbs with a white picket fence, a decorated officer as a dad and a stay at home mother. But if you looked closer you could see the imperfections. You would see that the beer in our fridge would only last for a couple of days. You would see my mother, always trying to keep my dad happy. And you would see the burns on my skin, where the cigarettes had left there mark. But you would have to look hard, to see these imperfections. They weren’t on the surface, they where kept hidden like a deep dark secret.

6. Judging

Jason’s P.O.V

“Judging people?” I didn’t understand, why that would help me, but I guess I need to listen to her. “Yes judging people, are you deaf or something?” She snapped back, but didn’t wait for me to answer. “If you know a person’s story before they tell it to you, you can pretty much do anything. Plus you got to give out, a vibe that nobody should mess with you.” “And how do I do that?” I asked, sounding pretty dumb. “Right now you look like a person I would steal from, even though you are bigger and stronger then me. I would pick you, cause you look like a nice guy. But now you are living on the streets, and you need to toughen up.” She said sounding irritable. I quickly looked down at myself, and she was probably right. I was wearing a new blue t-shirt, some blue jeans, a denim jacket and some new sneakers. I looked like a suburban kid, which I guess is not good. But why was she so irritable all the time? I was just trying to be nice to her, and she just keeps snapping at me.

Leila’s P.O.V

I didn’t know what it was about him that made me angry, but something about him pissed me off. I turned around facing him, and then I stepped on his shoes and kicked some dirt on them. “Why the hell did you do that?!” I didn’t answer him I just messed up his hair a bit, and then I started to walk towards a clothing donations box. He just followed me, he was still angry about his shoes. When we got there I put my arm down the donations box to score some free clothes, and bingo a dark green hoodie and a black hat. “Put these on!” He said nothing he just put them on, and stared at me giving me the evil eye. I guess it was my fault, I should not snap at him so much. So I should probably apologize, or get him drunk. “Calm down, and let’s get some lunch”

One hour later.

We could not stop laughing, we could barely sit up. I don’t know if it was the vodka we just drank, or the fact that he just stole his first hotdog. It was probably the vodka. But we were getting along fine for the first time. “Did you see the hotdog guys face, he was so confused.” Jason said between eating and laughing. “Maybe that was because you said a giant meteor was coming towards us, and he needed to give them to us for free and then you ran.” I said, still laughing. And you could probably tell we were pretty drunk. But hey, we are young and it is Tuesday.

A/N: I am sorry this chapter sucks, but I got some serious writers block. I really hope the next chapter is better ^^
