Kiss Me

Niall Horan had never had a problem with not having a girlfriend while all the lads had one, until now, especially when the only girl he wants sees right through him. Niall tries to get the girl of his dreams, and lifelong best friend, Juniper (who he calls Junie and sometimes Jay) to fall as deeply in love with him as he is with her.

17. Fishy Buisness

Louis' POV
I stand in the kitchen, making tea and keeping an eye on John. I can tell there is just something off about John. He gives me the tingles. And not the good kind. Not the kind you get when you know you can trust someone. The ones that send red flags waving frantically in the air. I don't know what it is about him that I find fishy, but I want to find out. Or at least be there for Junie when/if all hell blows over.
I make my way down the hallway to Niall's bedroom and close his door behind me.
"You know, Niall, I think I will come with," I say, sitting on his bed while he packs.
"Why the change of mind?" He asks, raising an eyebrow up at me.
"I want to meet Juniper's mom and brother," I say, blatantly. He looks at me funny, but then shrugs and carries on packing.
"Sure, just pack up and then get some sleep," Niall says. I nod and slap his shoulder before leaving and heading to my room.
I pack quickly and sit on my bed, letting my mind roam. I really want John to be real and not have bad intentions, because I really want Niall and Junie to be happy. It sucks being the only suspicious one because there is a high chance I'm wrong in my beliefs. I do want to meet Junie's family, but I also want to protect her from heartbreak.
"Hey, where are you going?" Eleanor asks me, coming out of the bathroom with wet hair and her pjs.
"I'm going with Junie and Niall back to Ireland to meet Junie's family," I say, wrapping an arm around her and hugging her close. I smell the sweet, clean scent of her shampoo and I nuzzle into her neck. She giggles and a smile forms on my lips.
"Okay, when will you be back?" She asks, looking into my eyes.
"I'm not quite sure. Maybe a week or so," I answer, kissing her cheek lightly.
She frowns and looks down, looking like a kicked puppy. My heart drops straight to my stomach and I wrap my arms around her again and pull her down on the bed with me, snuggling her to my chest. She sniffles and I know she's a bit upset now. I brush the hair off of her forehead and kiss it gently.
"I love you so much," I say. "I will count the minutes until I come back to you."
"I love you, too, Louis," She whispers, kissing my shoulder and laying her head back down on my chest.
With my soon-to-be Mrs. Tomlinson snuggled into me and the thought of our future together, sleep pulls me under it's gorgeous spell.

I wake the next morning and see El is still by my side, sleeping like an angel. I gently kiss her lips and she flutters her eyes open, smiling when she focuses on me.
"Good morning, beautiful," I say, smiling back.
"Good morning, goofball," She says, giggling. Then a sad expression takes over and she says, "I'm going to miss you a ton."
I nod and kiss her cheek. "I'm going to miss you more."
She blushes and smiles, looking down. I lift her chin so she's looking me in the eye and then kiss her firmly. I love kissing El. It never fails to make my heart flutter and my breath quicken. I pull back and smile at her. She smiles back and gets up.
"Come on, lazy, its almost eleven. You leave in an hour for your flight," She says, walking out the bedroom door, me jumping up to follow her out.
In the next hour, Niall, Junie and I decipher a somewhat coded note left by John telling us where he'll meet us at the airport, eat a quick lunch, and say goodbyes to the rest of the group. I make sure Maiya, Katie, and Perrie know to keep an eye on El because she gets a little sad when we are apart. I kiss El one last time and the three adventurers climb into the car and Paul takes off toward the airport. My palms are starting to get sweaty with the anticipation of this spontaneous trip.
When we get to the airport, we check our bags, head through security, and get a guarded walk to our gate by airport security. Once security leaves, John approaches us, informing us that our three seats are together and that he will be sitting separately as to not draw attention to us. I raise an eyebrow but say nothing.
We board the plane and take our seats in first class. Niall lets me sit with Junie and he sits across the isle. There happens to be nobody sitting next him so he has a lot of space to relax.
For the duration of the flight, Junie and I talk nonsense. Like complete nonsense. We talk about the apocalypse and then sprinkles on ice cream and then whether or not unicorns are real. Then about have way through, Junie falls asleep on my shoulder. I get Niall's attention and he snaps a picture, chuckling because her mouth is slightly open.
I think about John again. He better be genuine. I really don't want to see these two wonderful kids hurt.
