Hidden Bright Side {Liam Payne}

Liam was the most popular kid in school, as well as the meanest. When he is hit with the reality stick, he decides to change his ways and become a.. Er- Geek. Things take a bad turn for him and he becomes the most bullied kid in school. Will he survive his new life or will he go back to the old ?

19. Revelations

"I'm sorry..." I began. I looked at the ground as Liam paid for both our frozen yogurts.

"For what?" He answered back, finding us a seat in the hectic food court. My head was still down as a walked. I couldn't help but feel guilty for literally everything I've done. "Genevieve? You were saying something?" He found a spot, placing our yogurts onto the table. We were sitting in one of the rare booths that were practically never open. It had a window view, giving us a scene of the sun-setting sky.

"For everything. Literally. Everything." He furrowed his eyebrow at me, taking in a bite of his yogurt. "Don't furrow your eyebrow at me. Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about Liam."

"Liam, can I ask you something?"

"Go for it."

"What's with everything? I mean, like with you. For the first 3 years that I knew you, you we're a perfect angel, and my best friend. Then you just, I don't know, snapped? You just stopped talking to me, stopped showing up to school. You were a completely different person, and I know you noticed.

He let out a sigh, as if he didn't want to speak, and he didn't. From his pocket, he pulled out a small envelope. Inside that envelope, he unraveled many other smaller ones. They were the cards. "Genevieve, what are these?" Changing the subject.

"Pictures of us.. Together, from a happier point in our friendship."

"And where did they come from?"

He knew already. I could tell by the way he spoke. He just wanted me to admit. "They were cards. I knew that if you had them, you'd remember the better times. I care about you Liam. I just wanted you to stop from getting yourself in trouble. I don't know. They seemed like the best at the time. I mean, it worked, didn't it?"

"Genevieve. I honestly can't tell you why I did the things I did. I mean, you can't even explain yourself why you did the things you did either. You say you care about me, and I can truly see that. That's not what hurts though. What hurts is the fact you tell me you like me and that you love me and it's pretty easy for you to kiss me, but whenever something comes up, you push me aside and friend zone me and that fucking hurts. Maybe I'll get myself straight when you do to."
