Hidden Bright Side {Liam Payne}

Liam was the most popular kid in school, as well as the meanest. When he is hit with the reality stick, he decides to change his ways and become a.. Er- Geek. Things take a bad turn for him and he becomes the most bullied kid in school. Will he survive his new life or will he go back to the old ?

26. Chasing

I wiped the lone tear about to fall from the corner of my eye. The sight of a tear was a sign of weakness.

3:02. School ended about half an hour ago. Lovely.

I looked up from my phone, Liam standing by our lockers. "Liam!" I called desparately, hoping he would respond.

"If you're here to run after me, you're too late. My mind is made up." He kicked the locker door closed, walking out of the school.

"Lights out now sweetie. You gotta get out of school before ya get locked in," the lone janitor said, pulling the mop bucket out of the janitors room.

I gave him a light smile and a salute before saying goodbye and running out. It was ten past three, the sun shining brighter than I'd ever seen it. In a cliche movie, it would be raining because something bad had just happened and I was doing nothing about it. I'm not in a movie though and everything was not ok. Everything was coming to an end and I couldn't let things finish off this way.

"Liam!" I shouted again. I threw my backpack to the ground so it would be easier to run.

"Beat it Genevieve! I told you it's too late. You didn't come after me that night and I don't need you coming after me now." He spat at the ground.

I slowly inched myself towards him. "But Liam, I know you miss our friendship. I know I do. I missed hanging out with you. It wasn't right with Arc. Maybe at first, but it was nothing compared to what we had and I don't care how freaking cliche that sounds because it's true. I don't want you to go back to bad boy Liam. That's not who you are. You're Liam James. The sweet, boy next door who's best friend fell hard for but was too shallow and caught up in her own world to realize. I don't want to mess up like I did last time Liam. I don't want to miss out on being with you senior year. I don't want to miss out on our memories of what could be forever. I just don't."

At this point, he seemed farther away than ever. His eyes nearly closed, his fist tightly closed, his jaw clenched. He shook his head no rapidly. "No Genevieve. No. I miss us too. You can't erase the last few years. I can't erase what I've done. Maybe if I didn't always have my tongue jumbled up, then things would be different. I don't know. You're my trigger though Genevieve. Nothing but good happens around you, but I can also say the opposite. So many bad things have happened and I'm tired of being a jigsaw puzzle trying to read your mind. I told you. I'm done."

"You have to stop dreading on the past, G. It's not healthy. Trust me, I should know. Maybe one day this will all work out, but until then, just look for the hidden bright side. You're you, I'm me, and nothing will change what we know we have."

So it looks like the end to this one. I wanted to keep it going but it just seemed to drag on and this seemed like a good place to end. It was either this or like 20 more chapters that I don't find necessary. Anyways, I hope this wasn't terrible. Thanks for reading! x
