Runaway Girl

When I was bit, it felt like my whole world was falling apart. I was on my surfboard, being pushed to shore while people were shouting at me, telling me to stay awake. By the time we were on shore, some people had lifted me up on my surfboard and were carrying me to a truck. I had my eyes closed, and when I opened them, my blue eyes met green, my blonde wavy hair met brown curly hair, and for that split second, everything seemed okay. I couldn't feel the pain, and for that split second, I think I fell in love.

4. Chapter 4

Skylar's POV

"Excuse me miss," I heard from behind me. "But does this bag belong to you?"

I turned around to face the person who had spoken to me, about to tell them yes, but my breath hitched in my throat when I saw him. Holding my bag that had Marvin sticking out of it. He had a cheeky smile plastered across his perfect face. And don't get me started on his dimples, they are fucking perfect!

"Hello again." I said quietly, my breaths coming in a fast, rapid pace. "Hello again." He replied, handing my bad over to me. I grabbed it by the strap, and let the bag dangle from it's long strings off my shoulder.

"W-what are you doing here?" I asked him. He looked at me with a confused glare. "You never called, or even texted." He told me, a sad look buried deep in his eyes. "I didn't think that note was serious." I lied. "Well you seemed to have liked the cat." He said with a deep chuckle.

"Marvin." I corrected him. "Who-vin?" He asked confused. "Marvin. I named the cat Marvin." I said with a small smile. "Nice choice of a name." He laughed. "Can I erm, see?? The wound I mean." He asked nervously, completely changing she subject. "Of course!" I said excitedly, the first person that asked to see just happened to be the person to help me when it happened.

I lifted up my shirt, revealing the rest of the bite, and turned around so he could see the worst of the damage. He brought a hand to his mouth, and his eyes started to wet. "Why are you so sad?" I asked him, confused. He wiped his eyes and sniffed, "I never thought I would see something like this happen to such a beautiful girl." He told me, a small smile playing at the corner of his lips.

"Thanks," I told him, "but I think it's actually pretty cool." "You really think so?" He asked me. "Yeah, I mean who else gets to say they survived a shark attack, with a giant bite scar?" I joked. "That part is cool." He said. "It's Skylar, right?" He asked me. "Yeah, and you're Harry?" I asked him. "Yeah." "Well Harry, it'd be best for me to get going. I have to meet up with a friend." I told him, and gave a small wave as I wobbled past him.

He had just gotton out of my view, when I felt him grab my wrist, and twist me to face him. My heart skipped a beat as I stared into his piercing green eyes. "H-Harry." I said startled, "what are you doing?" I asked him. "You're not walking anywhere." He said, reaching down and grabbing an unhurt part of my thigh. I pulled me up, and I wrapped my arms around his neck to hold on.

There was a small sensation of pain of where my body pressed against the wound, but I could deal with it. "What?" I asked sarcastically, "are you going to carry me around all day?" "Yes, if it means that you won't have to hobble around." He said with a smile, staring straight into my eyes.

"Where to madam?" He asked me sarcastically. "Um, the fish and chips shop just across the pavement." I told him. He carried me to the door, and let me grab my crutches before carrying me towards the food shop.

Laura was already there, waiting for me with an annoyed look on her face, until her eyes wandered over to where we were coming from. She jumped off the chair and ran towards me. "Sky! Are you alright?" She asked in a panicked manor. "Calm down Laura, I'm completely fine." I said with a small giggle.

We walked over to the table where Harry sat me down. "Thanks," I whispered to him as he pulled out a chair. "Laura, this is Harry. He helped me when the shark attacked." I told her. "I thought he looked kind of familiar, but I didn't know I saw him at the incident?" She asked confused. "You probably don't recognize me from there, but from my band." He said cheekily. "What band?" I asked him, slightly confused. "One direction." He told us.

I dropped the glass that I was bringing to my mouth, completely shocked. "Shit!" I said in frustration as water spilled all over me, and the table. Harry picked up the glass as I stood from my chair. A waitress came over to us and pulled out a rag, giving Harry a wink as she bent over and wiped the table off.

"You didn't tell me that." I whispered to him. "I didn't think that it mattered." He told me. "Of course it matters!" I half shouted. "Why?" He asked me, his eyes turning a a shade darker. "I don't want to be all over the press Harry!" I told him, starting to get a little angry. He looked at me confused, and then chuckled, bringing his face closer to mine.

"If you hadn't noticed," he started to say. "You just survived a shark attack." He finished, chuckling as he went back to leaning on his seat. "Holy fuck!" I said kind of to myself. "How could I forget that?" I asked. "I'm sorry." I told him. "It completely slipped my mind." "That's okay." He said, a smile on his perfectly pink lips.

"You two done with your little moment?" Laura asked from across from me. "Sorry, but yeah. Are we ready to order?"

Harry's POV

I chuckled at what Laura had to say, and leant back in my chair. She forgot about her attack, and said that she didn't want to be in the press, does that mean she wants to see me more? I looked over at her, speaking to Laura and looking at the menu.

She had a beautiful face, sculpted to perfection. With long eyelashes that flicked her cheeks when she blinked, and nice plump, pink lips. She had long blonde hair that was lighter at the ends then at the roots, and is naturally wavy. And she wasn't stick thin. The tops of her thighs touched when she walked, her hip bones show, but arn't drastically popping out, and her stomach isn't completely flat. She's fit, healthy, and beautiful.

She may have a mark that scars her for life, but in her eyes, that mark is perfection. It's a story, a memory, a thing she has to live with the rest of her life.

And being honest, I like that about her. She's not afraid to speak her mind. And she lives life to it's fullest, living by today, and not what the future holds.

"Harry?" I heard Skylar say from beside me. I snapped back to the real world, and looked over. She was leaning in front of me, her hand in front of my face waving back and forth. "Wha-what?" I asked, not sure of what they were doing.

"What would you like to eat?" She asked me. "Oh, just some nacho's." I told her. She turned back to the waitress, and told her our orders, before returning back to her conversation with Laura.

After about 20 minutes or so, our food had arrived. Laura got a chicken burger, Skylar got the fish and chips, while I had my nachos.

"Those look really good!" Laura said, staring at my plate. "You can have some if you'd like, as long as I get some of your chips." I told her. "Deal!" She said right away, diving her hand to my plate.

She took a bite of the nacho, looking over at me with a smile. I have her a little smirk back, and laughed to myself before grabbing a nacho. All the while Laura was eating her burger in peace.

"Harry," Skylar started to say. "You don't have to carry me." She finished. "You're injured, and it he doctors don't want you putting too much weight on your leg." I told her, still carrying her back to Laura's car.

"Well yeah, but I've been sitting for the past hour or two, I think I can walk for a bit." She told me, a pout on her face. "Nope!" I said with a grin, "As long as you're with me for the next few days, I'm carrying you."

Skylar's POV

"Do you need a ride?" I asked Harry after he set me down in the car's passenger seat. "No, I think Louis is still here. He can give me a ride." He told me. "Okay, I guess this is goodbye?" I asked him. "For today maybe. And I still want you to call, or at least text." He told me with a grin. "Okay Harry, I promise." I said with a laugh. "Goodbye Skylar, and Laura." He said, and with a small flick of his wrist, he was already walking away.

"Well that was fun." Laura said after he was out of earshot. "Yeah." I said, "but he's famous." "So what?!" She exclaimed. "I don't want to get caught up with that, he'll be touring while I'm all alone, and I don't do long distance." I told her. "It will never work out."
