16. Chapter 16

• Harry •

Savannah's eyes began to move. I stood up to make sure she was okay. Her eyes opened and she jumped when she saw me.

"What are you doing?" She looked at me like I should be in am asylum.

"I was making sure you were okay, then you opened your eyes. So are you okay?"

She sat up and wiped her eyes. "I think so. I don't understand what happened."

"That's easy. Zayn was going to hit you, and I wasn't going to let that happen. So I grabbed his hands and I had him in one of those weird locks, he couldn't move. Then you told me to let him go, which I did. You started looking abnormally pale, and you were really sweaty, but then you just fell over. We, Zayn and I, caught you before you hit the ground. You had a fever most of the night, but it started to go down around three." I looked at her with a faint smile.

"Yeah. Easy." She shook her head.

"That's only the easy. I've been up all night." I sat back in my chair that was set to the side of the bed.

"Why?" She stood and stretched.

"Because I was worried about you." I shrugged. "I mean you kind of just blacked out. It scared me."

"Okay. Okay." She put her hands up.

After breakfast we sat on the sofa in silence. She sipped on her mug. What was in it, I could not tell you. She had her legs curled up underneath her and her hair was in a bun.

"What are you looking at?" She pulled me from my thoughts.

"Nothing." I smiled as I shook my head.

She rolled her eyes, then took another sip from her mug.

"I'm absolutely dying for a good dessert. Something so awfully sweet you think you're going to have a heart attack by the time you're done eating it." The room wasn't silent anymore. It had been so quiet before, I could hear my voice faintly echo.

She shrugged. "I don't know Harry." It was silent again as we both thought. "Maybe a doughnut."

"A doughnut." I nodded my head. "Shower first though." I began to walk away.

"No. Ladies first, and I thought you were a gentleman." She shook her head with a smile.

"Not when it comes to taking a shower love. That's the only thing more important than you. I mean, I have to look good. This hair has to look good. You could always join me." I stood at the edge of the stairs waiting for her to answer me. She kept her face turned away from me, but I swear I could feel the heat all the way over here.

She finally turned to look at me, shaking her head. "Maybe next time... Love."

"Your loss." I shrugged and started my journey up the stairs.

I heard footsteps, making me realize I must have been in too long. I grabbed a towel and headed to get some clothes. Not log after I heard my name, it grew closer and closer, but I didn't move any faster.

"Harry?" She knocked on the door. It was already cracked a little. After she knocked, she just walked in.

"Yeah, I'm in here." I stood up holding my things in one hand and holding my towel up with the other.

"Never mind." She was walking away, I called to her.

"What's wrong?" I asked as I put my shirt on, hoping the towel wouldn't fall.

"It can wait." She waved her hand at me and walked off again.

I threw my underpants on, grabbed my pants, and went after her. I stopped her at the top of the stairs, not even five feet from the door.

"I've waited."

She looked from side-to-side like she was crossing the street. Then she looked into my eyes. "Louis text me." Shifting her weight, and gaze to the ground she finished. "He'll be here late tonight or tomorrow morning."

I leaned against the wall. "Well... Let's not let him ruin the time we have. He's not here now, so let's go get that doughnut and have a good time."

She smiled a little, which made me smile. "Okay." She moved past me and headed down the stairs. I followed. When we got to the door she looked at me and giggled a little. I looked down, didn't say a word. Just turned around to grab the pair of pants I left on the stairs.

"Oh. My. Goodness. Best thing I've ever had." She took another bite, making it now only a half doughnut.

"What was the last thing you had that was better then the doughnut?" She licked the glaze from her finger. Her eyes flicked from the glazed dough to me. "Last night, dancing with you." She smiled then took another bite.

"You wanted something sweet. I don't know anything sweeter than a doughnut." She licked her fingers again as she finished it off.

"I do." I covered my mouth as I realized I was thinking out loud.

"Oh really? What?"

My heart sped up as I thought about telling her. Just get it over with Harry.

We sat on a bench, I looked at her with a smile. "You."

She smiled back. "With a cherry on top?"

"You know there's no other way."

"I love cherries."

"I know. You're my cherry. On the bottom, in the middle, the very tippy-top. If doesn't matter, you're always there to sweeten my day."

"And you're mine, Harry." She looked me in the eyes, pushing her hair back.

I wanted to kiss her again, this time more then ever before. But I kept remembering what she told me. I didn't want to upset her, or ruin this moment.

I turned away, looking across the street into a coffee shop. Sitting close to the door I could've sworn I saw Andrea and Mikey. Andy was pointing this way. Before I could see anymore Savannah called my name. I was hesitant to turn my head. She called my name again. So I turned.

My lips began to move, but neither of us were speaking. I realized then what was happening. Her lips still had glaze on them, I could taste it. But she smelled strongly of jasmine and vanilla, something I had never noticed before.

"Do you know how long I've been waiting for you to do that?"
