15. Chapter 15

Harry held my hand as we walked down a hall toward a room full of music and laughter. I looked over at Harry, looking as handsome as ever. Then I looked down to make sure my dress looked okay.

"You look beautiful. As long as you and I believe that no one can mess with us." I felt my cheeks warm a little, but I didn't say anything. I didn't know what to say. "So do you?" We stopped outside the room. He grabbed my other hand.

"Do I what?" I pulled my eyebrows in.

"Do you believe that you're beautiful?"

I relaxed my face and thought about it for a moment. "I don't know Harry."

"Well, you should. If I had to pick any girl dancing around in there, I would pick no one. I'm perfectly content with my gorgeous date." He winked at me as he finished.

I rolled my eyes with a smile. "Okay."

Harry let go of my other hand and we walked in. He led me a table covered with a creamy colored tablecloth. It flowed all the way to the floor. I imagined a child hiding under it like I used to do.

Harry stood, he walked and stopped in front of me. "We've been sitting here watching other people have fun. Isn't that what we came here to do?"

I kept quiet, looked at him kind of confused.

"Get up. We're going to dance. That's why it's called a fancy dance thingy." He knew he had won. A smirk crept up as I stood and took his hand.

We made it into the crowd of people. Harry kissed my hand. "Thank you for this opportunity."

My cheeks warmed up again, but I'm sure this time it was enough that he noticed because he smiled at me. The music changed, becoming slow. I tried to walk away, he blocked me.

"So we dance for two seconds? That's no fun. Just dance with me? Please..." He pouted his lip and held out his hand again.

I rolled my eyes. "Well, how can you say no to that face?" I took his hand.

"Here." He said as he put my arms around his neck. Then he wrapped his arms around my waist. "See, that's not bad at all." He whispered into my ear as we slowly moved in time with everyone else.

"Yeah, it's not bad."

The music was loud again. I think Harry wanted to dance some more, but I was tired. I was ready to go home. Then I noticed the name behind the DJ.

"Harry." I tugged on him. Even when he answered on me, I continued. When I realized I had to put my words together without freaking him out. "The DJ, Harry. I know him. Harry. We have to go."

I looked back up at the name. I jumped a little when I realized Harry's hand was on my forehead.

"You're burning up love." He looked at me concerned. "We need to get you out of here."

"Harry. Are you listening to me?" I looked right into his eyes.

"I am, but... Oh my goodness. I have to go to the bathroom. Will you be okay? I'll only be a moment."

"You can't leave me here. Harry?" I called as he ran off, but it was no use.

Only a moment Harry? Yeah right. It takes me less than ten minutes to pee. Jesus Christ. I rest my head against the wall and closed my eyes.

"Long time no see."

I didn't open my eyes. I knew who it was. "What do you want?" I growled at him.

"I think we should talk. You know, you just left me, and-"

"You know, I left for a reason." I opened my eyes to look at him, letting him know it still hurt me.

"Then we could talk, fix things. I miss you." He moved closer and I moved away.

"No." I looked at the ground. "No Zayn. That's not a good idea."

His face turned red. "Is it because of that-"

"That what? Harry was at the airport to pick me up after our disaster of a summer together. He just nearly died because of me. Why in one hundred hells is he even still talking to me?" I pushed my hair back. It didn't need to be, but with so many thoughts running through my head, I needed to do it.

"That's what people do when they love someone." Zayn shrugged like his words meant nothing. "I mean, he's done things that make you question why you're still friends with him. Right?"

"Not like me Zayn. I'm a disaster."

"So what you're saying is that you're just friends?" He looked at me confused.

"Of course." I said it like he already knew.

"O-o-oh." He began to giggle.

"Zayn I have to go." I began to walk away, but he called after me. "What?" I turned to face him.

"Please don't leave me again. I really do miss you. We can get coffee after this and talk about it." He bit his lip and I sighed. Why?

I shook my head to knock myself out of it. No. No. No. "I can't tonight, I'm not feeling well."

Just like Zayn, as soon as I was about to walk out the door, he grabbed my arm. "I want to catch up."

"Then call me. My number hasn't changed. For now, I would like to just go home." I looked him in the eyes and he let go of my arm.

He walked over to the wall and began to pound on it. I rolled my eyes. Then I realized he was walking toward me now.

"Zayn calm down. I told you to call me."

"I know what that means. We'll never have coffee, you'll never call me..." He was in my face as he screamed the words. The people around us just looked. They weren't even trying to stop him.

"I swear." He turned to look at me, walking slowly. When he got to me again, he just shoved me. I didn't say anything, didn't even think. I just reacted and hit him.

He felt his cheek and smirked. "Nice one. My turn." He drew back to slap me, I closed my eyes. It had been a been at least ten seconds and still nothing.

I opened my eyes. Harry had Zayn's hands behind his back like he was going to arrest him. He spoke through his teeth. "You want to try that again buddy."
