Platinum Heart

Winter Rose Ridland has always been rich. She's used to the maids cleaning for her, the butlers fetching her food, the kids at school bowing down before her, and the constant spending money--but what she isn't used to is surprise road trips. When her dad decides that it's time to send her to boarding school, the family packs up and leaves. What they weren't expecting was a freak car accident, and what Winter wasn't expecting was to survive--and more importantly, she wasn't expecting herself to be found. Will she find a way back to her old life, or will the boy who saves her show her a different one? © 2013 by beliebervision. All Rights Reserved.

20. 20: Just Getting Started *Last Chapter*

We've spent hours working through the plans of selling the place and the company. Most of the butlers who've had other jobs before helped me set up meetings with real estate agents and such, but they said they'd take care of it when the time comes.

Justin and I, on the other hand, have been sitting outside for a long time while everyone got everything sorted out. It wasn't that boring, I had my buddy to talk to, but after a while I was getting to the point of being done waiting.

Thankfully, I was soon notified that everything was taken care of and everyone would miss me and blah blah blah. I was just glad to get out of there.

"Well, that was...abrupt." Justin says once we are in the car.

"Very." I say bluntly and look over at him. "Was it wrong to do that?"

He shrugs. "I don't think so. It made me happy, so I guess we're all happy."

When he smirks, I hit his arm. "Whatever," I say. "At least I don't have to look back."

Justin doesn't say anything. He grabs my hand and I lean my head on his shoulder.

"Are you nervous? For tonight?" I ask him.

"Heck yeah, I'm nervous. Why shouldn't I be? What's going to happen, I don't know. I'm so freaking nervous you have no idea. At least you're here." he says.

"Don't be cheesy." I laugh. "But, I promise it'll go great. Okay?"

"Yeah, yeah." he leans forward and tells the driver to drive to MSG, because apparently it's time to start getting ready, even though whatever they're planning on doing doesn't start until seven. "Look, if this doesn't go well, we're running away."

I crack up a tiny bit. "We're running away." I repeat. "And is that plan going to work...?"

Justin, still leaning forward looking out the windshield, brings his hand back and lightly punches my shoulder. I don't know how he did, but I guess he's more flexible than I thought. "It'll work because I'm Justin Bieber."

I smile. "Then if our 'running away' plan works, then why won't your big reveal work?"

There is a moment of silence. Then, "Hm. Never thought about that."

I pat his back. "You're Justin Bieber, it'll work."

He sticks his tongue out at me, then when the driver announces that we are 5 miles away from MSG, Justin relaxes and leans back. He places a quick, unexpected kiss on my lips, then looks out the window.

I raise my hands. "Whoop! MSG baby!"

Justin laughed his cute laugh and started singing 'Baby', changing some of the words to MSG at random times just to go along with what I just said. Eventually I started singing along, and once we realized that we had stopped, Justin smiled and got out of the car.

I lean forward towards the driver and hand him a tip. "Thanks," I say. "for putting up with us for that long."

He graciously takes it. "Anytime."

I nod, then lean back, unbuckle, and step out of the car. I walk towards Justin and he holds out his hand. I shake my head and smirk. "I know you want to run in there."

Justin's so excited that he's jumping. "Yeah...I do..."

I laugh. "Go ahead, buddy."

Then he's off, and I'm slowly following behind. I still don't know if I'm prepared for tonight, but I guess we'll see what happens.

It's 6:30 pm. I've been milling around backstage all day, helping whoever I can, occasionally heading to wherever Justin is to give him some words of encouragement. He always ends up having to go somewhere else to prepare, though.

I don't mind. I know he's under a lot of pressure, and needs this to be perfect. Otherwise...

"Hey, Winter!" I hear my name being called. I turn and see Scooter. I mentally groan, what does he want?

He jogs over to me and I raise my eyebrows, cross my arms, ready for the put-down. "You all ready?" he asks.

This confuses me. "Ready?"

"Yeah," Scooter says. "Got everything prepared?"

I furrow my eyebrows. "What? This is news to me."

Scooter groans. "Ugh! Justin was supposed to tell you," he says. "Okay. Here's the plan,"

He puts a hand on my back and steers me towards the dressing rooms, explaining the plan that gets my heart pounding.

7:00 pm. The whole arena is packed now, I was allowed to look, and now I wish I hadn't. Justin keeps whispering things in my ear each time he passes me. 'It's okay', 'Everything's going to work out', stuff like that. I don't find it encouraging, though. Because I'm ready and he still has to do all this stuff to prepare.

I try to take deep breaths.

I watch as everyone continues to get lights ready, then I hear fireworks. Must have been from inside the arena, because afterwards I hear thousands of beliebers screaming. Then, I hear a countdown.

Another deep breath. Calm down Winter.

I close my eyes, trying to think of good memories with Justin. But I can't, because I feel a hand on my back and someone leans down in front of me.

"You okay?" Justin asks. I shrug.

"Just nervous," I confess. "I didn't know I was playing a part in this."

He leans up so our noses are almost touching and smiles faintly. "I swear, everything's okay. We double checked a million times, it's going to work and it's only 10 seconds long, then black and we leave right away."

I close my eyes and lean into him slightly. "All that preparing for 10 seconds..."

Justin laughs. "Can't give 'em too much of a show."

We kiss, just the faintest touch of our lips, and then I tense up and pull away. I grab at Justin's sleeve and shake my head.

"'s okay Winter," he says quietly.

"B-but...30 seconds..." I manage. Justin frowns. He's still kneeling on the ground, so he gets up and holds his hand out for me to take. I don't take it.

"We have to get ready," Justin urges. "Come on."

I give in and take his hand. I don't want to ruin his most anticipated moment of the 2 years that he's been gone, just because I'm nervous. I take a deep breath as he leads me to where he needs to be, probably so he can say goodbye one more time before I have to get into my place. When we're there, assistants place Justin in front of the camera, but don't comment on how we're still holding hands. Then, they leave us, and the last part is up to the countdown.

"You okay to go now?" Justin asks. I let go of his hand and nod. I start to leave, but he grabs my arm and pulls me back to him. "Hey," he says.

I look up at his eyes and smile. "Hi." I say.

Justin's eyes move to my lips, then back to my eyes. I know what he wants, but I know that he has to say something, too.

"What?" I ask. "I have to go, Justin."

"I know," he says. "I just wanted to say something quick."

I raise my eyebrows and encourage him to continue. He just smiles from ear to ear. "And what could that be?"

Justin pulls me in for a kiss, then pulls away as quick as he'd pulled me in, and places kisses on my neck. I sigh.

"Mmm," he says. "I love you."

My eyes widen, then I get this really strange flurry of butterflies. Justin smirks, then pushes me away before I can respond.

"You should go," he says, smiling. I smile too.

"I should." I say. "But I'm not going to."

This time Justin's eyes widen. "Winter! You can't be here, it's not part of the--"

I cut him off. "I don't care about the plan, you just said you loved me." I point out. "So how can I leave, thinking about how I left without saying it back?"

His whole demeanor lights up, and he forgets about the plan. I wrap my arms around him for a brief moment, then pull away to look at him. I make a cute face. "I lovee youu Justinnn." I say and Justin laughs.

"Mmk weirdo," he says jokingly and I slap his arm. He smiles then kisses me one last time before we get the five second warning, and have to face the camera. Justin pulls me towards him and keeps an arm around me.

One last deep breath.

The light on the camera flares up, indicating that it's turned on, and that the whole stadium can see me and Justin. He smiles and puts the hand that isn't around me behind his back.

"Suprise." Justin says.

The light turns off, leaving the stadium black, and the fans gaping, wondering what the hell just happened.
