Platinum Heart

Winter Rose Ridland has always been rich. She's used to the maids cleaning for her, the butlers fetching her food, the kids at school bowing down before her, and the constant spending money--but what she isn't used to is surprise road trips. When her dad decides that it's time to send her to boarding school, the family packs up and leaves. What they weren't expecting was a freak car accident, and what Winter wasn't expecting was to survive--and more importantly, she wasn't expecting herself to be found. Will she find a way back to her old life, or will the boy who saves her show her a different one? © 2013 by beliebervision. All Rights Reserved.

13. 13: Ryan Butler

"I hate them so much right now," Justin says as he sat down on the edge of the guest bed. I lean against the door frame as I listen. "Like, if I could strangle them to death, I would."

I suppress a smile. "I don't think you should go that far."

"Well what else am I supposed to do?" he asks as he flops down on his back. I debate whether or not I should go over and sit next to him, but I guess I don't need to because he pats the spot next to him. With a sigh I walk over and lie on my back next to him.

"Just make your own decision, I guess. Don't listen to them. I mean, you don't have to. You're, what, twenty-one now?" I ask as I turn my head to look at him. He nods. "Then just take the two weeks that you have to make a decision that you want to make. No pressure."

"Yeah a two week deadline to make the choice of whether or not I want to become the most famous person in the world puts no pressure on me at all."

I roll my eyes. "You're twenty-one but you act seventeen. Go figure."

He laughs. "I guess I shouldn't be that mad at them. I mean you lost your parents. I should at least be grateful that I have mine."

I shrug. "Yeah, you should." I sit up and wipe my cheeks before Justin notices that I've shed a few tears. He sits up as well and glances over at me.

"I'm sorry." he says with a frown and starts to rub my back. I lean against him because I feel as if I'm going to fall over if I don't.

"It's okay," I manage to say. "I just...I feel like I'm going to have these moments where I miss them and where I don't miss them because when they were alive they weren't very good parents. I just don't know what to think."

Justin continues to rub my back. "Hey, everyone deals with it differently. It'll be okay."

I nod. "I just don't understand this anymore. It all happened so quickly and now Justin Bieber is basically my only friend. I don't even have a family anymore, they're all dead."

"I know a perfect family for you," he says. "It's just a matter of meeting them."

I sit up and raise an eyebrow at him. All he does is turn away as if he doesn't want to talk about that much longer. I frown to myself and decide to scoot back on the bed so I'm leaning against the head board. Justin looks back at me before he gets up.

"Are you tired?" he asks as he walks to my side of the bed. I shrug.

"I guess," I say. "but I don't want you to be alone."

"Just rest for a little bit. I have to go do something anyways," he says the last part quietly. I heard it, but decide to shrug it off and close my eyes. I feel him place his hand on my arm and I want to open my eyes but he moves away before I can. Sooner than I think, I feel myself slipping into nothing.

Justin ran his hands through his hair as he bounded down the stairs and out the front door. He didn't bother telling Cathryn that he was leaving--because, well, he didn't want to. Nobody needed to know where he was going except himself.

He shrugged his sweatshirt on and stuck his hands in his pocket as he walked. Since there wasn't anything else to do while he walked, he played with the keys in his pocket to keep occupied. He walked for about ten minutes until he reached the intersection. Then, he turned to the right and started walking down the new road until his saw it.

Justin's heart sped up a little bit when he spotted the Range Rover. It's been so long since he's driven a car, and of course he'd be sent a Range Rover to drive. It was his first car, after all.

He drove as fast as he could down the road. Hopefully--if he drove fast enough--he'd get there within an hour and back in time for Winter to wake up. With a sigh, he leaned forward against the wheel.

There was just something about her. He didn't feel attracted to her in any way, shape, or form. He wasn't going to be the guy who fell in love with the girl he rescued, or the girl he fixed, or the girl who was hard to get--because Winter wasn't any of those things. She was just a girl. A girl who was just like him.

She had money, and she got sick of it and they just related right away. It didn't have to turn into a relationship. Maybe he just wanted a friend for once.

So, he thought to himself, why was he doing this when he knew the consequences?

For the fans, Justin. You're doing it for the fans.

He pushed his thoughts to the back of his mind and drove. Drove, half awake and half asleep at times, but he managed to make it to where he wanted to be. He looked out the window and that's when he bolted out the car.

Ryan laughed as Justin flung himself at him. "Nice to see you too?"

Justin grabbed his wrist. "Yeah, yeah whatever. We have to go."

Ryan raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"Because if we don't get home soon I'm going to get yelled at." Justin said. Ryan cracked a smile and Justin rolled his eyes. "By a friend."

"You've replaced me?" Ryan gasped. "Well, mister, you've also shattered my heart."

"Well I don't care," Justin said and dragged him towards the car. "We're leaving."

"Fine, fine."

Justin got into the car and Ryan followed shortly after. As he started it, Justin said: "Oh, and don't freak out if I fall asleep while I'm driving."

"And why is that?"

"Because your company always manages to put me to sleep somehow. You should work on that."

"Thanks, Bieber. Love you too." Ryan spat and looked out the window. Justin smiled, and then drove as fast as he could down the road.
