Saved at Dark Hours

I stared up at him, tears forming in my eyes. I watched his expression on his slender face, hoping to see him stumble over his words. He didn't though, his face stayed taut not showing any expression, while my heart broke even more.
"No!" I raised my voice pushing my hands into his shoulders as the tears spilled down my cheeks. "Louis please don't think that way" I choke out. He wrapped his hands around my wrists and held them firm. I could tell he was in pain physically and emotionally. I learned to see past his façade to the real Louis.
"Dakota, me thinking differently is not going to change the outcome." He said his face now pulling down showing remorse.
"Louis, this is just another block in our road, all we have to do is climb it." I said quieter "we can do this"
He let go of my wrist and lifted his hand to my face. Brushing the hair out of my eyes he leaned down and kissed my forehead. "That's the thing Coda, I cant climb this one." (Louis Fanfic)

I locked the front door once the clock hit 11 p.m. Even though she didnt answer me earlier I knew she had another night shift. I shut the blinds to our giant bay window and went upstairs. after throwing on some shorts and a t-shirt I climbed in bed. when my head hit the pillow I realized just how tired I was. These nightmares always start up around this time. Ive coome to the conclusion its because its around the annivarsary of my brothers death. I wish my mom was around just a little more. So I could talk to her about them. But she will never be my sweet lovable mom again I realized years ago. Ive always felt like it was my fault that my family fell apart. I go back to the fact that if I wouldnt have taken my mothers attention she wouldnt of wrecked. Then Tommy wouldnt be dead. My parents marriage wouldnt be long gone. and Id still have them here with me everyday. I closed my eyes and let sleep over take me.

I stood in my black knee length dress (which I was extremely mad about wearing) next to my mom who wore a black dress that resembled mine. My dad was on my other side not moving at all, he just stared straight ahead. I felt my mom tighten her grip on my hand as they lowered Tommy into the ground. I dont think my mom could take it any more because I heard faint crying. I leaned my head against her side and held back my tears. I had to be stong for her, for whats left of this family, and for Tommy. My dad placed his big hand on my shoulder. we all stood there in silence as they began to fill the rest of the hole up with dirt. After they were done My dad started walking towards the car. I pulled mom behind me. I know she didnt want to leave but it was time. We got to the car and we all got buckled. as we drove I watched as mom reached her hand towards dads. He pulled his hand back out of her grip. that was weird, my mom leaned her head against the window and began to cry again.

I opened my eyes. I was covered in sweat. I rolled over and looked at the clock. 1:15 am. I covered my face with my pillow and groaned. It seems Im getting less and less sleep. After laying there for a little bit I sat up, might as well not like Im going to fall back asleep. I stayed in my shorts and t shirt but put my favorite sweatshirt on and went down stairs. I couldnt hear my mom so I knew I was right about theh late shift. leaning against the kitchen counter and fiddling with a pen I decided to go for a walk and clear my head. maybe the air will help.

I rounded a corner turning into a small ally way. I felt uneasy about walking down this way but it was a short cut to get back home. by now its probably 2 in the morning. I started to pick up the pace when I heard something behind me. I cursed to myself and walked faster. I broke through the darkness into a street that didnt look familiar. It was completely deserted except for a small park and a small diner that read 'Millers'. I made my way to the diner. I was hungry anyway so why not. I walked in and saw an older woman wearing an apron with her hair in a bun pouring coffee into a mans cup at the bar. she looked up at me and her expression showed a little shock to be honest. I guess they dont have that many customers this late at night. I went and sat down at a booth at the far end of the diner. once I sat down I took in the rest of my surroundings. the design of this place I noticed was modeled after the old diners. had the cute booths and even a jukebox at the front. I looked around until my eyes landed on a young man at the other corner in a booth. He had brown hair and a handsome face. I noticed his style was unique but I actually liked it. I could see a few tattoos on him which got me wondering what else he had. My eyes landed on his face again and noticed he saw me staring. I looked down nervously and I just knew I was blushing. I looked back up and he was fixated on his book again. My face cooled down and I went back to looking at the menu. "Maddi! get out her sweety" the older waitress called out. I her a quieter voice called back that she was coming. I saw a blonde haired young waitress come out from the back and make her way over here. once she reached my table she looked up at me and I smile spread across her face. "oh hi" she said I little louder then before. "oh you work here?" I asked after I noticed that it was the girl from earlier. "My name is Maddi" she said pointing to her badge. I didnt really care that much cause I wasnt really used to girls actually being excited to see me. I smiled awkwardly "ok, can I have a salad?" I asked she nodded her head "sure thing" she turned around and walked back to the back . that was a little weird I thought to myself. I set the menu down and looked up again. This time the young guy was staring at me.
