Dead Dawn *Sequel to Dead End*

* A Sequel to Dead End*

KC is moving on fast. The world is becoming a new place, but with the help of her new mate Tanya, and longest friend, Katie, fighting against the infection is the best thing they can do.
They have to move along fast. They travel to a camp, with fresh food and water, but when something happens on the way, Tanya and her brother, KC and Katie are wandering, and when night time falls, will they all wake up alive?

'Just get in. We'll able to get him much quicker. Trust me.'

KC glanced over at Katie, who gave her a similar look back. Then simultaneously, they watched as Tanya narrowed her eyes at the man with the gun.

'Come on, Tanya. It's okay. We just need to trust people. If not, we'll be stuck here when night falls. Do you want to get eaten alive?'

The way Katie said it, it gave KC the chills. They were both only beginning to get used to this new way of life. The world was moving too fast, but both girls would soon catch up. Well, they hoped. KC much more than Katie.

Tanya bit her lip, then grabbed the man's hand. He pulled her up and into the jeep. Sadly, it didn't have a roof, but it'd do if they needed to get Zombies off their backs. Especially with a gun at the ready.

The man passed the gun over to KC. She looked down at it, and then back up.

'What am I suppose...-'

'If you see any, blow their brains out. Behind you are theres a box. If you need to reload, they are in there.'

KC gave him a weirded-out look. Did he actually expect her to shoot this thing? She'd never come across a gun in her life, let alone knew how to use one!

'Pass it to me' Katie sighed, and KC handed it over, letting the weight drop into Katie's arms. The man looked impressed for a moment, but then he returned to the wheel, and started the engine and gunned away from the gas station. They were heading back into Silverville, hoping and praying with everything they had left to live for, that they'd come back out alive.

'OhmiGod, Kyle!'

Tanya pulled Kyle into her arms, wiping away the blood from his forehead. He looked up at Tanya with fear in his eyes, but when he noticed the people around him, he gave a weak smile.

'Thank you' he whispered, and clung onto Tanya with all the might he had. Tanya lifted him carefully into the Jeep and set him down. Then she pulled the belt across, and rubbed his leg.

'You'll be okay, Kyle. Were going to a place. It'll give us fresh food, clean water and new clothes. We'll be able to live there.'

Kyle smiled again, and then shut his eyes.

'I'm tired, Tanya.'

She climbed in, and turned to the driver. He was looking away, watching out for any potential threat. KC and Katie had joined him, all of them looking in different directions. Tanya was grateful for everything they'd done. All they needed now was to get out of there. And fast. It was the middle of the afternoon, and soon it would become late afternoon, which meant it would be evening, then night. Time was slipping through their fingers. They needed to stock up, and get to safety before night fell.

'Are we ready?'

The engine was started. That was the only reply Tanya was going to get.
