Katherine Black isn't your average sixteen year old, let's just say she has a lot of enemies and instead of being the hunter she's being hunted. For 24 hours city of bones competition.

3. The Fight

I was about to say something when something caught my eye. In the corner of one of the booths there were people sucking at girls necks, i didn't need to be told twice what they were. Mason followed my eyes and saw what i was looking at.

"Vampires." he growled, it was clear he didn't like them and neither did I. He was about to stalk over there but i had a better idea. I stopped him and i smirked.

"Allow me, Grey." i said.

I strutted over to them and they lifted their heads to look at me. A smile formed on their faces showing their fangs which disgusted me a lot. I stopped in front of them and i crossed my arms over my chest.

"Hello boys." i said using my best flirty voice. They looked at each other and grinned.

"You're ours now, Black." they said.

They went to grab me but i was already prepared. Using one hand i hit one of them square in the chest sending them flying into the wall. He crumpled to the floor with a grunt. The girls in the booth were so high that they just laughed and clapped.

"Grey! Now would be nice!" i yelled as i backed away from the vampires.

The people in the crowd didnt even care, they were probably used to it. One went to hit me but i grabbed his arm and twisted it until i heard a snap. Mason was by my side taking out the other one using his special blade. It was helpful for him but i had to stick with physical fighting. I kneed him in the balls with all my strength and he crumpled over with a groan. I moved so i was behind him and i elbowed him in between the shoulder blades. The vampire fell to the floor on his back.

Mason had finished his vampire and he was stood watching me with awe. I jumped onto the vampire, straddling across him and i grabbed my stake from my weapons belt and punched it into his heart. He let out a blood curdling scream but i shut him up by breaking his neck just to be sure.

Sweat beamed on my forehead but at least the job was done, maybe Mason would let me run after seeing i was one of the good guys. He turned to face me smiling. Adrenaline still pumped through me and i was sure if i had to i could take him on.

"I wasn't sure at first but it's obvious now."  he said. I looked at him with a confused expression and he continued.

"Katherine Black, you're a shadow hunter, like me. You could see my runes and you could snap a neck like it was nothing. However i still have to turn you in unless of course you knocked me out and took me with you on the run." he said with a raised eyebrow.

I was shocked, of course, but i could see where he was going and it actually wasn't to hard to believe. I raised my eyebrows and smirked.

"Or i could just drag you with me? It would be easier?" i said. Mason grinned at me and i knew he was thinking what i was thinking.

"Ready?" he asked. I nodded keeping my smirk on.

I'd never felt more ready or excited. I knew who i was now and what i had to do. Who cares if i was on the run forever, i was a shadowhunter and i was born to kill demons. Mason and I looked at each other and we ran as far as we could.

This was our life now, forever running and killing evil. I was born for this.
