Rose has been quiet all her life. She has a mysterious past that has something to do with everyone to hate her. But what happens when five new boys move into town and starts to take an interest in her?

1. New Boys

I got on the school bus, and sat in my usual spot alone in the front. I listened to the weird things people were talking about behind me, but didn't try to join the conversation. They would probably think I'm weird. That's what happened in middle school; I don't really talk much now because of that.

We pulled into the school zone, and I got off the bus. As I walked through the front doors, I kept my head down so that I wouldn't have to look anyone in the eye. Suddenly, I felt myself run into someone, and their books fell on the floor.

"Sorry," I whispered as I knelt down to pick up their books.

I looked up to see who it was, and found a pair of brown eyes staring right back at me. I quickly blushed and looked down, but not before seeing his gorgeous smile. I helped him pick his books up, and got up to walk away, but he grabbed my hand and pulled me close to him.

"What's your name?" he asked as a little smirk played on his face.

"R-Rose," I barely choked out.

"I'm sorry, I didn't hear you," he replied.

"Rose," I repeated, a little louder this time, but still in a whisper.

"My name's Liam, can I walk you to class, Rose?" he asked.

I nodded, and we walked to my first period together.

"Look at that, this is my first class too!" he said as we walked inside.

I sat down in the back row by myself, while Liam walked to the front of the class.

After talking to the teacher at the front, Liam stood at the front of the class next to the teacher. "Class, this is our newest student, Liam Payne. Liam, why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself?" Mr. Johnson asked.

"Well, I moved here from London with four of my lads, because we wanted to get away from our parents," Liam explained, "and I just hope that this goes well."

"Thank you Liam, you can go sit by... um... Ruth?" Johnson asked, pointing at me.

"I think you mean Rose," Liam corrected, and walked to the back and sat next to me.

The teacher began his lesson, and I saw Liam scribble something on a piece of paper out of the corner of my eye, then slide it over to my side of the table

'You don't talk much, do you?' it said.

'No' I wrote back.

'Why not?'

'It's a long story that I don't want to tell'

'I'll get it out of you eventually' I looked at him, and he winked at me.

The class ended, and I immediately got up and left. Liam followed me, trying to walk quicker to catch up with me.

What is wrong with this boy?

"Don't deny it, I will eventually," he whispered in my ear.

I just shrugged it off and walked into my class. But I still can't figure out why he likes me so much...

I walked into the  cafeteria, and grabbed my hot lunch. I sat down at my usual table, alone as usual. Suddenly, a bunch of people sat down next to me.

They were teenage boys, and there were about five of them, but the only one I recognized was Liam.

"Hello Rose, we heard about you from Liam, and figured you were lonely, so we're going to sit with you now," one of them said.

I gave them a confused look, but didn't say anything. I was taught better than that.

"Oh, I guess we should introduce ourselves. I'm Niall," said the blonde one.

"I'm Harry," said the one with brown curly hair, giving me a wink. I blushed.

"I'm Louis"

"I'm Zayn"

"And you already met me!" said Liam.

I nodded, and kept eating.

"Do you talk?" Louis asked, and Zayn hit him in the back of the head.

"Then tell us about yourself," he said, resting his head on his hand. I just shrugged.

It was painfully silent for the next few seconds, and I took another bite of my food.

"I thought you said that you talked," Zayn said.

I quietly cleared my throat and quietly said: "yes but not very much."

"She does speak!!" Harry exclaimed, jumping up, just to sit back down when a ton of other people turned around and stared at him. I giggled.

"So, tell us about yourself, don't worry, we don't bite," Zayn said.

"Are you sure, mate? I'm gettin' pretty hungry," Niall joked, and my face got even more red.

"Shut up and eat your food, lad. Rose, don't be afraid, just tell us something interesting," Zayn said again.

"Well, there's not much to tell. I don't have any friends, never have. And I don't talk much," I replied so quietly that they all had to lean in to hear me.

"Why don't you talk? I think talking is fun," Harry said.

"It's a long story," I whispered, looking down at my food.

"Hey Rose, do you want to come over tomorrow for movie night?" Niall asked.

I shrugged, unsure. I had just met these guys, it probably wouldn't be the safest thing ever to go to a house with a bunch of teenage boys alone.

"Oh, come on, Liam will make sure none of us pull anything on you, he's like a dad to us," Louis reassured. I still shrugged.

"You'll be safe with us, I promise," Liam said, looking deeply into my eyes. At this point, I couldn't resist. I nodded my head, and they all cheered.

"Great, now what size of footy-pajamas are you?"
