The Thrill To My Styles!

This was no ordinary girl. No, she had no intention of falling in love and yet it happened... Taking care of her siblings all by herself, having to quit college to begin parenting to her 4 siblings. That's when an awkward curly-headed boy stole her heart.

3. Asking God For Help

The next morning was Sunday. I woke all the kids up at 7am and told them to get ready for church. I needed to talk to the pastor anyways because the twins were turning 14 next weekend and I wanted to talk about them helping me with decorations and presents. The church does those kinds of things all the time, so if they knew my situation, maybe they’ll help us. The kids all groaned about waking up early.

Me: Oh chill you guys. Visiting God’s chapel is the least we can do for him keeping us together. We can always move back to London.

Jake: No!

Me: Then chill.

About halfway through the service, David started crying. I grabbed his diaper bag and walked out to the hall.

Me: David. Please stop crying.

I rocked and bounced him. This middle aged woman smiled at me as she walked passed me. I smiled back and walked into the bathroom to change him and make him a bottle. When he stopped crying I sat back in my seat and fed him the bottle. When the service was over, I needed to talk to Pastor Michael.

Me: Guys, wait here.

I took David and we talked to Pastor Michael.

Me: Excuse me, Pastor. Do you have a minute?

Pastor: Always.

He smiled.

Me: I Don’t know if you know my situation, but let me explain. For 2 months I had been locked up in a mental institution for killing my father. I only did that because he killed my mother.

His eyes grew sympathetic. He let me continue.

Me: I am taking custody of my siblings: 15 year old, Matthew; 13 year old, Rebecca and Jake; and 2 month old David. I need help. I’m swallowing my pride and begging for anything the church can provide: food, water, school supplies, clothes, diapers. I need everything.

Pastor: Of course we can help you, Monica. Let me get your number.

I gave him my number.

Me: Thank you so much!

I gave him the biggest hug.

Me: Oh, There’s one more thing. I Don’t want my brothers and sister to know.

Pastor: Its all confidential. They wont know a thing. Promise.

Me: Thank you so much.

My phone started ringing. It was Harry. I let it ring.

Pastor: Go ahead and answer it. I have a meeting I’m supposed to go to for the church. Have a good one.

Me: Bye...

I answered the phone and walked back over to the kids.

Me: (on the phone) Hello?

Harry: Hey!

Me: I got to call you back. I’m just leaving church.

Harry: Religious? I like that.

He giggled.

Me: What can I say? I am a woman of God!

I smiled.

Me: But I really gotta go. Call me at 10pm. Okay?

Harry: K.
