Different from the Rest

Kady used to have a normal life. She loved to shop, listen to music, and play field hockey, she was on the reserve list for the 2016 Olympics in Rio. She was even lucky enough to meet One Direction at one of their concerts and she kept in touch with them. Liam and Kady developed feelings for each other and started casually dating. That was until Kady discovered she had a life-threatening sickness. She was in the hospital for months, but overcame the sickness. But, the illness left her with a learning disability and now all her dreams are shattered and she has to rebuild her life. She must go from black to white but must learn there are shades of grey in the middle which are needed for healing.

3. A "Treat" in Town

Saturday, the best day of the week. I chose to walk to town, it was the holiday season and I had gifts to buy for people. I passed Oxygen Fitness and it seemed like there was a curly haired boy inside. Is that Harry? I asked myself. No, it can't be I must be imagining. Then at Bob's Sports there was a smiling, blond haired, boy trying out a new soccer ball. Niall? Okay, I'm officially going mentally insane. I should talk to a doctor about how I'm seeing things. I walk into Starbucks, it'll be a long day and I order a tall double chocolaty chip frap. As I'm waiting for them to make my frap, a boy with deep brown eyes, a wide smile, and tanned skin walks in.

"Hey," he says to me. It's Liam, I can tell by the way he talks. Liam has this strange pattern of how he talks and he always has. I decided to ignore him, it is not like I really know him anymore.

"Hi Kady," he tries again, there's a speck of hope in his voice.

"Hey Liam," I eventually say in a flat tone. There's a pause, he has no idea what to say and he knows I don't want to talk to him. I grab my frap and I start to walk out. He follows me and I turn around annoyed, "Don't…you have better …places to …be?"

I ask stuttering as a strong gust of wind blows and my long brown hair is thrown to the left. I zip up my coat and cross my arms over my chest waiting. He's at a loss for words. Liam tries to change the subject,"So… are you okay after your illness?"
Fire burns inside of me, I am sick and tired of him trying to act so innocent.
"I'm fine, but you didn't answer my question, don't … you have better … places to be?" I tried to not stutter, for once I want people to listen to what I have to say, not my stutter. I turn on the heels of my boots and walk away. Out of the corner of my eye, I see him following me, oh crap.
