Spirit of Wolf and Water

Cora is a normal 17 year old girl, she has a barn, and has her friends who have her back. Her father died three years ago and her and her mother dont spend very much time together anymore. But when a cougar attacks Cora and she is saved by a siren named Tuari, they go through the challenges of the water curse together. Even though Cora and Tuari live together and they know each other quite well, does Cora know Tuari well enough? Is Tuari all she says she is? Will Cora ever put the pieces of the mysterious attacks together or will it lead to a place she doesnt want to go?

17. Cora

After what happened with Kota I ignored him. I felt so bad for feeding on him that I couldn't bare to look at him. So for the past couple days I have been avoiding him. Tuari has been trying to help me through it but its been kinda rough, I would get terrible stomach cramps during the day when I needed to feed and sometime I would even start coughing again. So Tuari got me a water bottle full of blood for when I really needed it. I felt really weird carrying it around, no one knew that I was carrying it but I just couldn't shake the feeling that someone was going to find out. When I got home that evening Tuari and I went up to my room and sat on my bed, "So how are you really feeling about all this?" I looked at her and frowned, "Scared. I don't want to drink human blood and I never want to feed on human flesh," I paused, " But I love swimming. It's so freeing." She smiled at me, "Im glad. Oh so are you still going out with Jake tomorrow?" My eyes went wide, "Thats tomorrow?! Oh I totally forgot! Yah I guess I am," I really didn't feel as excited as I thought I would, "Why aren't you bouncing of the walls with excitement? Whenever you talk about him you seem head over heals. Whats changed?" I sighed, honestly I didn't know, "Cassie. She gave me crap on the bus about talking to him so Im kinda afraid that she's gonna mess with me," Tuari grinned, "Its an open party right?" I nodded, "Good well then I'll be there and by the way if she messes with you, you have some advantages she doesn't." I raised my eyebrow, "You'll find out," She then gave me a hug and started out the door. When She was gone I peaked out my blinds to see a shirtless Kota laying on his bed, headphones in doing homework. 'What am I doing?' I thought, 'I am losing my best friend'
