2. Chapter 1

I groaned as I rolled over, slapping the alarm clock silent. 5:00. Have I ever mentioned I hate getting up early?

But unfortunately, I have to. My mom loaded me with a bunch of errands to run. I hate errands...

One hour later

I drove into my school parking lot, dead tired.

I send a text to my friend Derick; SOS! Errand alert! Well, technically, I was already done.

Derick soon send a text back; I'm out! ;)

I stuck out my tongue at my phone. Have I mentioned I hate errands? Thought so.

Anyway, I was sitting in my car, wishing I could just take a nap right there and then. I glanced at my clock. 8:00.

I groaned, pushing my forehead against my steering wheel.

Knock. Knock.

I glanced up, surprised to see Avery standing at my window (I mean, really surprised).

I rolled down the glass and she smirked at me. She looked even more stunning then ever; Her red hair was tied back into a bandanna, her sky blue blouse brought out her eyes, and her skinny jeans complimented her beautiful hips.

"Hey, Preston," She said. "I knew you loved school, but I didn't think you would come this early."

I didn't know what to say at first. I mean, wasn't she supposed to hate me?

Finally, I came up with something really intelligent like; "Um,"

Avery looked like she was trying not to laugh. That got me out of my trance. "One, I hate school. Doesn't matter what school it is. Second, I'm only here this early because my mom sent me on a bunch of her "little jobs" for me, so here I am. And, third," I paused to catch my breath. "What are you doing here, Ms. Jones?"

She stared at me. "Oh, I'm on a little "errand" as well," With that, she left me gazing after her, wishing I knew what this errand was, and wishing again for the millionth time, that we were as close as before now.
