9. Bombarded

I was the first to wake up, the first to wash up and take a shower, and the first to be downstairs.

I looked around and the house was as silent as a mouse. The sun's rays were slowly creeping in from the windows, lighting up the house. I managed to get my feet moving and was able to make it the fridge in the kitchen.

I opened it and scanned for any edible thing to eat. All I saw was milk, two eggs, and leftovers of some weird dish someone cooked last night.

I closed the fridge and looked around the kitchen. Having just a dash of hope, I reopened the fridge and scanned again. Nothing just milk, eggs, and leftovers.

"There's nothing to ear, is there?"

Scared to the bones, I turned around clutching the fridge doors to see a tired and eye-rubbing Louis. Relieved I let go of the doors and took a seat on the stool by the island, I shook my head.

He took the stool next to me and looked over at me. I decided to look at a sauce stain on the floor, I still couldn't meet his gaze ever since last night. I could practically feel his eyes burn into me. A smile spread on my lips before I turned to peek at him through my newly straightened hair, "Why are you staring?"

He looked up as if he had to think for a moment. His eyes came back to mine and he smiled, " Maybe cause you're beautiful."

My eyes widened and my cheeks went hot. I laughed and quickly shook my head, "Ha. Yeah right."

He frowned and took my hand, causing me to look him in the eyes, "Why do you think that your not?" he asked.

I shrugged and noticed Louis' hand intertwining with mine.

"You know, were not even suppose to be holding hands..." I said as I untangled our fingers and set my hands in my lap.

"Okay, how about we just hang out then. You guys don't have rehearsal till one."

I gave thought to the idea of just hanging out with Louis, just me and him. It would be a good way to really get to know him but what if someone sees us like paparazzi? Could I really chance rumors?

"Sure." I smiled.

I guess we'll see what happens.

"Great, I'm going to go change then." He hopped off the stool and turned toward the stairs. I looked back over my shoulder to the fridge and wondered if there was going to be food since I waited a while. In the middle of my thoughts, a pair of lips gently kissed my cheek.

"Sorry, I couldn't help it."

I blushed looking down at my lap, "Go get changed Lou." I giggled.

Not even being able to see him, I know he finally went upstairs chuckling. I was already changed so I decided to wait for him in the living room. I wore high waisted light blue shorts that were distressed at the bottom and a caramel crop top that hugged. For shoes I wore caramel colored sandals. My hair was up in a messy bun, letting my bangs fall to my right side of my cheek.

I heard the shower turn on upstairs and decided to sit on the couch while waiting. I looked around the room seeing if there was anything to pass the time. I noticed the tv remote on the other couch but dismissed it. It was too long of a walk.

"Hey, you ready?"

I pushed off the couch and straightened out my clothes, "Yeah, I am--"

I looked up at Louis and couldn't seem to talk. His hair was styled into a quaff and he was clean shaven. He wore a solid gray t-shirt, that proved he had muscles, and was accompanied by a pair of back skinny jeans, back converse, and a gray beanie. The outfit was simple yet he was astonishing.

"You okay there Scarlett?" Louis asked smirking. Dang it. He caught me staring!

"Uh--uh yeah..." I pushed the right side of my hair behind my ear and blushed.

"Come on." he spoke.

Just his voice alone gave me shivers, good ones though. His accent was just a cherry on top.

We quietly left the house and walked over to Harry Audi R8.

"Wait, isn't this Harry's car?" I asked opening the passenger door. Meeting Louis inside, he turned to me and smirked, "Yup."

He started the car and then we were off. I had no idea where we were going but I made sure to bring about thirty dollars just in case.

"So where you want to go?" Louis asked breaking the silence.

"Uh, not sure. How bout the mall?"

He nodded his head and we were back to the silence. It was too much for me. My ears started to hurt from all the silence. I need noise, and I need it now. A little too quickly, I turned on the radio.

"And here's the song that's number one on the charts!" the radio announcer announced.

A smile grew on the face as I recognized the first beats of the song. I bobbed my head nonchalantly to the music.

"Maybe it's the way she walked. Woo!" I sang.

I felt Louis' eyes on me but at the moment I didn't care. I was having fun.

"Straight into my heart and stole it." I continued, this time looking at Louis with a flirtatious look.

He burst out laughing turning the radio up and singing along, "Through the doors and pass the guards, just like she already owned it."

We sang to each other through the rest of the song and even tried to do the dance.

"Oh my god Louis, you almost hit me!" I yelled ducking in between my legs.

"I think it went Oh Oh Oh!" he screamed, totally ignoring me.

"Louis! The road!" I screamed through a laugh.

Louis quickly grabbed hold onto the steering wheel and jerked it to the right. He threw his head back and laughed.

"We're here." he pulled into a parking spot near the front of the mall.

We're still laughing as we entered the mall. I guess we were laughing so hard we didn't even notice we wandered into Victoria Secret.

"Oh my god, how did we get in here?" Louis exclaimed looking around wide-eyed. He walks over and picks up a pink polka dot bra. He examines it before places it over his chest as if he's actually wearing it.

Pulling out my phone, I start laughing really loudly. I snap a few photos of Louis, one of them he's just smiling, the other is he's doing a duck face. He walks over and grabs my phone, lifting it up. He flips the camera to the front and says, "Smile!"

"This is definitely going on instagram and twitter." I laugh as I look through the photos. He grabs my hand and pulls me out of the store.

"Come on before papz see me. I don't need a picture of me in a bra all over the internet."

"Too late." I giggle.

He lets go of me and crosses his arms over his chest, "You didn't..."

I nod and jiggle my phone in front of his face, sticking my tongue out.

"God, I hate you. I miss the old Scarlett." he pouts.

I have no idea what made me do this but I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him closer, "Well I guess you're stuck with new one." I whisper, looking into his eyes.

He gulps and slowly lays his hand on my waist. We stay like this for what seems like hours, but was actually only a few seconds, until we hear a small tiny voice.

"Excuse me."

Louis and I quickly let go of each other. I look at the ground as he looks at the tiny little girl holding a small piece of paper.

"Yes, can I help you love?" Louis asks with a smile as he kneeled down to the little girl's level.

"May I have your autograph?" she asks holding out the piece of paper to Louis. He nods and takes the paper and pen from her before signing his name.

"Here you go love."

She grabs the piece of paper and clutches it to her chest with a smile. We watch as she scurries away to a older women holding a bunch of shopping bags. Her mother notices us and gives a polite smile and mouths 'thank you' to Louis who simply nods his head.

"Come on new Scarlett, let's go get something to eat." he hesitates and finally decides to wrap hi arm around my waist.

"Um, Louis, do remember that we are in public." I remind him placing my hand on his that's around my waist.

He shrugs, "Well we can just be really close friends." he squeezes.

He continues to hold me until we reach the food court. He tells me to go find a seat while he goes order us pizza. I look around the food court, trying to find an empty table. It was so packed I could barely see ten feet in front of me. Finally I found one, who was recently occupied by an elderly couple.

I fast-walked to the table, making sure no one else would take it. I sat down in one of the chairs and looked around for Louis. It was too crowded to see so I just pulled out my phone and checked my instagram. I was confused at first as I checked my feed. All I saw were strange comments but then I remembered the picture I posted of Louis.

I looked through some of the comments, curious. There were really creepy ones and scary ones, but there was a few of nice ones.

I continued to look through the comments until I heard someone clear their throat. I looked up to see a blonde girl and red-headed girl.

"Are you Scarlett?" the blonde one asked.

I slowly nodded, confused of these two unknown girls in my presence.

"Your here with Louis, right?" the red-head asked. Once again I nodded. I really wish Louis would hurry up with that pizza.

Suddenly, the blonde girl sat in the chair in front while the other girl, grabbed a chair from another table.

"Are you two dating?" the blonde one asks.

I was completely unprepared for that question, "Uh, no. We're just really good friends but um who are you?"

"My name is Bella." she replied. "And I'm Jannett." the red-head added.

I looked back and forth between them thinking and that's when I got it. "You guys are directioners aren't you?"

They nodded nonchalantly, still staring at me. They seemed to be examining me, as if to see if I'm worth anything.

"Well, I'm going to go look for Louis, bye now." I announced, getting up from my seat. I quickly walked away as Bella and Jannett continued to stare at me.

After I became part of the huge crowd, I began looking for Louis. He seemed to be no where in sight. I stood on my tiptoes but still got no luck. I huffed before I decided on leaving or not. What if he saw this really hot girl and they're hanging out now? She's probably more sexy than I'll ever be. What if he just decided to leave because I was boring?

I was pulled out of my thoughts as I was brutally pushed to the side.

"Hmph." Falling on my butt, I was bombarded by a group of girls squealing.

"Excuse--excuse me!" I tried to stand up. I harshly shoved a girl who ignored the whole scenario. I groaned. How am I suppose to find Louis now?

"There he is! Louis!"

Well that was easy.

I looked at the girl who just screamed the location of my missing friend. She stood on a table pointing at the pizza place. Bingo. I took the opportunity to push through the large crowd of girls as they watched the girl on the table get tackled by security because she refused to get down.

I got closer and closer to the pizza place until I saw him. He was squished from all sides by mall security. He looked quite frightened and I felt the urge to hold him.

"Louis! Hey Louis!" I screamed cupping my hands over my mouth.

Louis must've recognized my voice because his head whipped around wildly.

"Louis! By the Subway!"

His head whipped in my direction and smiled. He saw me. I pushed through to the very end of the crowd. I quickly ran toward Louis but was rudely pushed back by a security guard.

"Sorry miss. Please get back."

"There's a misunderstanding, sir. I'm Louis' friend, Scarlett." I assured him but he only chuckled. "Yeah and so is every other teenage girl here." he gave me a rough push back into the crowd of screaming girls.

I looked over at Louis' who was glaring at the security guard who pushed me back. He shoved some of the security guards until he was dead center in the middle of the circle, unprotected. His eyes wandered around the crowd until it landed on mine. He smiled and so did I.

"Scuse me." I push through a few girls that surrounded me and ran over to Louis. He picked me up and spun me around.

"Are you okay?" I asked examining him.

He chuckled, "Of course, I'm okay love. It's nothing new."

I looked up at him confused, "You weren't scared at all?"

He shrugged looking around at the staring girls, "Not really. Guess I'm used to it."

His hands now were placed on my waist and I felt myself get goose bumps. I felt the urge to just go on my tiptoes and kiss him. I felt myself slowly lean forward.

"Hey Louis! Over here buddy!"

The flashing lights made me jump and clutch Louis' chest. He grabs my hand and quickly starts walking away, "Come on."

We managed to get through the crowd of girls unharmed. Once cleared we took off in a sprint hand in hand. We rounded a few corners but we could still hear the shouting and see the flashes of the paparazzi and their cameras.

I regretted choosing this mall which was a complete maze. Louis' was constantly tugging my arm in different directions that it started to hurt.

"Louis! Who is this mystery girl? Is she your girlfriend?" The questions were getting louder and closer by the second. This people must be so fit from all this running.

"Come on, this way." Louis tugged me in a new direction. I was beginning to lose my breath and my vision started to become blurry. My body ached and my legs felt as if they were about to collapse any second.

"Lou--Louis, I can't go on." I breathed. I was the one this time to tug. I let go of Louis' hand and slowed to a stop. Louis looked back and quickly grabbed my hand, already tugging my arm.

"Come on Scarlett, before they find us."

I let my hand slide out of his and bent down to catch my breath. My chest started to burn and the blurriness in my vision just kept getting worse.

"Louis...I don't--feel good..." I heaved between breaths.

He was instantly by my side, putting my right arm over his shoulder and wrapping his left arm around my waist. I leaned against him for support but it didn't stop the pain.

"Lou--Louis..." I mumbled.

Louis' voice then became a muffled tone. He slowly became blurry and then I couldn't seem to see him at all. That's when I blacked out.
