Double the Styles

Tess Jennings was one of those girls that when you look at her you'd probably think, "Wow she must be that stuck up popular girl like in the movies." And for the record, that's half true. She was popular and pretty like in the movies, but not stuck up. She was a sweet, caring, beautiful, young girl. All the guys would hit on her & comment dirty things. But all she did was look down on them in disgust. Despite her popularity, her best friend was the last person you'd expect. Marcel Styles. The down-look dork of the school that everyone teased. Everyone bullied him despite the fact his best friend was "the popular girl" and no one bothered Tess about be best friends with "that dork". It was a weird system, and the two hated it. But suddenly something happens that might change everything in their lives. Marcel's twin brother is released from reformatory school after getting in serious trouble. A story about a boy no one ever knew. His name? Harry Styles.

7. You don't like. You can't like him.

Chapter 7 - You don't like him. You can't like him.

Harry's POV: "No Harry. I just don't think I can forgive you."
Wait, what? Did he just

"But M-Marcel..I.." I stuttered, unable to force any words out of my mouth. Marcel burst out into laughter, I continued to stare at him in shock.
I gave him a confused glare, "Huh?" He chuckled and pulled me into a hug.
He sighed, "Just kidding. Harry of course I forgive you. You're my brother. Yeah I was mad, but I could never stay mad. I just never knew you felt this way."
"Yeah, that was kind of the point.." I chuckled, giving him a weak smile. He smiled brightly at me. I knew then, that things were going to get better.
I broke the silence, "So, is it okay if I go along with you guys tonight?"
"Yeah sure, Tess already told me about it." he smiled at me, reassuring that everything was okay between us now. We headed to the car and drove off to meet the girls.

I texted them both; "On our way, see you girls soon. xx"

Tess' POV: Before I even got to the door, Mandy opened it.

"Hey," she smiled, pulling me into a hug.
"Hey" I mumbled, walking in. We sat on the couch, I was about to ask her about her encounter with Harry but then our phones went off. I checked it, the text was from Harry. I smiled to myself. I turned over to Mandy when I heard her giggle. She sighed, dreamily as she sat back in the couch.

"So, never told me you met Harry already." I started, waiting for an answer.
"Huh? Oh yeah, sorry about that. I had a doctor's appointment."
"Oh, okay."
"So what do you think about him?" she asked me, the ends of her mouth curving up into a huge grin.
"What do you mean..?" I asked curiously. Why does she want to know what I think of him? Or does she just want to talk about her own thoughts on Harry?
"Well..I don't know. I mean he's really nice. And Harry's really hot too, don't ya think?" she blushed a little at the mention of his name.
I don't really understand why, but something burned inside of me. Anger? Jealousy? No. It can't be. I don't have the right to feel protective over him, it's not like we're together or anything so it wouldn't matter. Besides, he doesn't like me. Why would he? As she continued on her thoughts about him, something in me was going off. I flinched at the thought of them together. For some reason, it bugged me. I returned to reality, as the doorbell went off. I watched as Mandy went to get it.

"Hey!" Mandy laughed, I got up to greet the guys. She gave Marcel a tiny smile, but then quickly moved on to Harry, engulfing him in a warm hug. Harry seemed a little taken back at first, but soon adjusted and hugged her back. They stayed there for a second or two longer than a usual hug, not that Mandy really minds.

I pulled Marcel into a hug, trying to get my mind of the two, "Hey, so I guess you and Harry worked things out?"
"Yeah, everything's all good."

I looked back at them, finally Mandy decided to let him go. He smiled at me and pulled me into a hug as well, "Hey Tess. Thanks for everything, you were right."
"You're welcome Harry. I mean after all, I promised you it was going to work out, right?" I chuckled, he pulled back and smiled at me. Mandy coughed in the background, Harry and I heading away from each, not realizing how long we had stayed that way.

"Um, so you guys ready?" Marcel interrupted, breaking the brief awkward silence.
"Yeah, come on." I said, heading out the door. We got into Marcel's car and drove in town to the local Starbucks. It was Monday, so it was really busy with everyone trying to get their beginning-of-the-week coffee. We took our drinks and left to hangout at the park by the lake. We sat down on some of the picnic tables. I went to sit beside Harry, but Mandy quickly took my spot. So instead, I went to the spot beside Marcel, because Mandy was too busy chatting up with Harry to notice she had taken up all the space on the whole freakin' table, leaving us with no room.

I stared at them, wondering what they were chatting about. Harry's deep voice only coming out in slow mumbles as Mandy laughed at just about everything. I continued to observe their behavior. Mostly Mandy's though. She seemed really into him.

"Haha, wow. Someone's got it out for Harry." Marcel whispered to me.
"Huh?" I snapped out of my thoughts. I must've been staring at them for a while..I hope Marcel wasn't talking about me.
He raised an eyebrow at me, "Mandy? She's all gaga over him. Do you think they would make a cute couple?"
I looked down at my drink, slightly annoyed at the question, "I dunno.." I mumbled.
"I think they would. They look kinda cute together. Maybe he likes her too. They've been talking an awful lot." he simply smiled at them. Rage, built up inside of me. I tapped my fingers on the table, frustrated.
"Uh Tess..? You alright over there?" Marcel asked.
"Yeah I'm fine. Just a little, tired that's all."

Harry's POV: I smiled at Mandy, trying to be as polite as possible. But geez this girl can talk. Not trying to sound conceited or anything, but I know she likes me. The way she's acting. She nice, and cute, but she seems like she's trying a bit too hard right now. Not my type. I like girls who can just let loose and be themselves. They're comfortable being who they are, even around the guy they like. Girls like, Tess. I tried looking over at Tess and Marcel, but whenever I moved my head over to take a peek, Mandy's head just followed mine, blocking my view.

Eventually, I just spoke up, "Uh hey guys, why don't you come over here?" I yelled over to them at the other table. They got up and headed over. Tess was about to sit next to me, but as if registering her actions, Mandy scooted closer to me.

"Here Tess, come sit beside me." she suggested, patting the spot next to her. Tess looked up at me, then switched spots.

"Dammit." I mumbled, a bit annoyed.
"What was that?" Mandy asked.
"Huh? Oh nothing." I answered back.
"Soo, what have you guys been talking about?" Marcel jumped in.
"I was just tell Harry a little bit about the area and some fun stuff to do." she smiled. I laughed a little to myself, yeah, "a little bit".
"Uh, cool. Did you tell him about Vanny's?" Tess asked. Haha, oops. She probably did, but I kinda wasn't really listening..
"Yeah, we should go sometime. Maybe tomorrow?" Mandy suggested.
They all looked at me, as if for confirmation.
"Um sure. Yeah that sounds cool." I said, fake smiling. I'm not really sure what "Vanny's" actually is, but I guess I'll find out tomorrow. All I heard about it was that it was some place that has a whole bunch of activities like rock climbing, paintball, laser tag, that kind of stuff.

We dropped the girls off, we walked Mandy to her door. Marcel and Tess gave her a hug and a goodbye then went back to the car.

"Bye Harry. It was nice spending time with you tonight." she smiled at me.
"Yeah, I had fun too. Night." I gave her a small peck on the cheek. I could hear her almost squeal but then she bit back. Her cheeks turned into a rosy pink, as her lips lifted into a huge grin. She went inside, turning back to give me a flirty wave. What was that about? It was just a little peck. It's just something polite that people do in the UK..why did she seem so worked out over it? Don't people do small things like that here in America? Well I hope so, I don't want to give Mandy the wrong impression. I shook it off and headed back to the car.

Tess' POV: I got in the car after saying goodbye to Mandy. I sat down, but turned back just in time to see Harry give Mandy a kiss on the cheek. My heart broke in two, I could feel a tear escape my eye, but I quickly wiped it away. Tess what's wrong with you?! You don't like him. You can't like him. You don't even know him! We went back to my house, the boys walked me to my door. Marcel gave me a hug and a goodbye, before heading back to his car.

"Thanks for inviting me tonight Tess. I had fun." Harry smiled at me. I couldn't help but stare at his shining green eyes. Oh goodness gracious.
"Yeah, no problem." I smiled a little at him, he continued to look at me. He didn't say anything, but the way he looked at me...woah. I peeked over at Marcel who was just waiting in the car, checking his phone. He wasn't really paying any attention to us. When I looked back at Harry, he was leaning in towards me. Before I could do anything, his lips crashed onto mine for a brief moment. I kissed him back, our lips moving perfectly in sync. We both pulled away, Harry gave me one last small goodbye before heading off. I looked back at him in awe. Did he just...kiss me? I noticed Marcel, he hadn't witnessed anything. Thank goodness. I went into my house a ran up to my room. Why was I glad Marcel didn't see anything? Why did Harry just kiss me? Why did I kiss him back?! I...I like Harry. I think. I can't though, I don't even really know him. But, I do. I still like him. But...I also like Marcel.
