4. The Crash

My best friend Kevin was hit by a train, I was with him. We were on holiday with our best friend Charlie, Jack, James and Kevin's two sisters.

We were driving along a road in two separate cars; Kevin and his two sisters were in front.

We came to a traffic jam that was over a train line. The guy in the train conductor box waved Kevin through, thinking that the traffic would move quickly but it didn't.

Soon enough the man in the box was waving his hands madly, then the barrier went down and he was trapped. We watched nervously as he pulled the car off to the side of the train line stupidly blocking off the doors by a brick wall.

The train was too close for them to get out the drivers side and so the train came I saw him starting to cry and then he looked at me and watched as I cried in turn. It killed all three of them. Me and Charlie sat on the bank of the train line with an orange shock blanket wrapped around our shoulders, we sat with our heads touching letting tears fall off our cheeks and into a puddle at our feet.

That was it. The three musketeers turned to two.

We went home two days later. I went straight to Jake's and he just held me. He didn't try to stop me crying he just let me soak his jumper.

Then I must have fallen asleep because the next morning I woke up in my bed with Jake lying next to me, I loved him so much. He was the greatest brother ever.

He was so kind and loving, and I never realised I loved him so much until it was too late.
